• The Master’s in Neurosciences at VU Amsterdam is a two-year, full-time program taught entirely in English. While the first year is made up of courses that are compulsory for all Neurosciences students, in the second year student will get to choose one of two tracks or a combination of both, depending on their own area of interest:
    • Fundamental Neurosciences  
    • Clinical and Translational Neurosciences
  • During the program, students will get to grips with all facets of neurosciences – ranging from genes to behavior, from both fundamental and clinical perspectives. The expert teaching student will receive comprises a combination of lectures, research seminars, workgroups, demonstrations, lab visits, and practicals.
  • The VU Amsterdam brings all areas of neuroscientific expertise together in Amsterdam Neuroscience. Its mission is to study the brain and its disease mechanisms through an integrative approach that covers everything from molecule to bedside. In Amsterdam Neuroscience, innovation takes place at all levels of study, from molecular to cellular studies, and from circuitry to intact brain and behavior, both at the individual level and at the population level. 
  • To prepare for a career in the academic or scientific world, students will also work on their own professional development plan as part of our Career & Academic Skills Portfolio course, which spans both years of the program.
