Academic Eligibility:
Operations Research Track:
- The Master's program Econometrics and Operations Research, track Operations Research, is open to students with a university Bachelor's degree that provides a thorough knowledge in mathematics.
- The requirements of admission are that the applicant has followed courses in Linear Algebra, Probability Theory, Analysis, and Statistics at the level of our Bachelor EOR.
- It is important that students have experience with optimization and numerical programming in, for example, Python, R, Matlab, Java, or C/C++.
Econometrics Track:
- A university Bachelor's degree that provides a thorough knowledge in mathematics (analysis, calculus), probability, (mathematical) statistics, econometrics, and computer programming.
- If students can show certified exam results for courses that are related to the subjects and are of a comparable level (each course with a workload of 6 EC or close to it), this is satisfactory. The equivalence will be evaluated by the Examination Board and its approval determines the admission.
- Basic knowledge of computer programming is also required.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- VU Amsterdam requires all applicants to take an English test. Exceptions are made for students who have completed a bachelor's or master's in Canada, the USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, or Australia.
- TOEFL and IELTS tests must have been completed no more than two years before 1st September of the year in which your course starts.
- Note: TOEFL MyBestScore is not accepted.
International students hailing from non-English speaking countries also need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
