• Cognitive psychology investigates human being’s mental processes, like memory, attention, and perception, and clinical neuropsychology probes how a neurological disorder or brain damage affects how we think, feel and act in daily life. Both fields help us grasp how mind, brain, and behavior interact: patients from neuropsychology help unveil how the brain normally operates, while theories on mental functioning from cognitive psychology help indicate how to best treat such patients.
  • This two-year Cognitive Neuropsychology research master's is the only research-oriented program in the Netherlands that combines both disciplines to comprehend how the elusive processes that play out in a human's mind relate to the structure and function of their brain.
  • The program is built around three windows into the human psyche: cognitive models and theories about mental functions, patients with a neurological disorder or brain damage, and neuroimaging techniques that help show the brain in action. By integrating these perspectives we enable students to take part in one of the greatest scientific endeavors of our time: unraveling the mysteries that have surrounded the human mind for centuries.
  • During the curriculum, students will be taught by renowned professors, who are among the best in their field. Many enjoy international recognition thanks to valuable contributions to their area of research within cognitive psychology or clinical neuropsychology.
