The International School of Management is a private, state-recognized university of applied sciences in Germany. It has been offering quality education in Germany since 1990. It has campuses in Dortmund, Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Cologne. With around 190 renowned partner universities and 39 committed national and international lecturers, the university offers an optimal preparation for students for a global career. The campus life is quite interesting and safe for international students who wish to Study in Germany. 

The university has a faculty to student ratio of 1:7 which ensures individual support to students. Small study groups and the personal atmosphere is one of the distinctive features of the university. The institute follows a 100% open-door policy and so, one can apply anytime. The admissions at International School of Management is completely online. The international applicants have to apply before December 15 for the summer term and June 15 for the fall term. However, Stuttgart campus does not accept international applicants at all.

Campus, and Accommodation

  • The International School of Management has campuses in Dortmund, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, and Stuttgart. 
  • More than 3200 students are enrolled in these campuses. 
  • The campuses of Dortmund, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Munich are open for international students in the fall term. While in the spring term, the students can choose between Frankfurt, Dortmund, and Cologne. 
  • The Stuttgart campus is not open to international students. 
  • There are a number of clubs and extracurricular activities for students at the International School of Management. The clubs may range from politics clubs, finance clubs to consulting and tourism clubs. 

Housing Facilities/Residence

  • The International School of Management does not offer on-campus residential facilities. The students can search for off campus accommodation. 
  • The off-campus accommodation costs may range from 250 EUR to 1000 EUR per month depending upon the individual preferences as well as the choice of location. 

Courses

  • The International School of Management Germany offers a number of undergraduate and graduate courses for students around the world. 
  • Some of the popular bachelor’s programs are offered in the areas of international management, finance, and information system. These programs are characterized by their international orientation, business knowledge, and course-specific content. All these undergraduate courses include up to two foreign languages, integrated internships, and soft skills. 
  • There are master’s programs in the areas covering international management, international logistics and supply chain management, finance, business intelligence, and data science, etc. All these courses include in-depth business knowledge, strong international focus, and an integrated practical approach. 
  • International guest students must note that the Master’s Program in International Management offered in Frankfurt, Dortmund, Munich, and Hamburg campuses is not available to them. 
  • The MBA General Management Programs are available both full time as well as part-time basis. The program provides comprehensive insights into all areas of management on a national and global level.

How to apply?

Application Portal: The students will have to contact the admission office to learn about their eligibility. They can Register for Examination on the official website.

Language Proficiency Test Scores

  • Minimum B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) by their German teachers. 
  • Students whose mother tongue is not English and who wish to enroll in English taught classes have to provide a recommendation of their English teacher certifying very good oral and written English skills of minimum B2. 
  • TOEFL with a score of minimum 80 (iBT) score. 

Students with little or no German skills can participate in the German Intensive Course prior to the semester start.

Scholarships/Financial Aid

The International School of Management sponsors highly dedicated applicants of both undergraduate and graduate programs. There are provisions for full as well as partial scholarships. 

  • Both full and partial scholarships only cover parts of tuition fees and do not cover costs for accommodation, learning materials, etc. 
  • International applicants who wish to apply for the partial or full-time scholarships must submit the application and the required documents by the following deadline: 
    • Spring Term: From 15 November until 15 December, midnight 
    • Fall Term: From 15 May until 15 June, midnight 
  • The various requirements to apply for the scholarships include:

  • Transformation of the final grades according to the German grading system on the Bavarian formula 
  • A number of study abroad scholarships are also available for students who wish to spend their integrated term abroad. Mentioned below are the details of some scholarships in Germany for international students
    • Frommknecht Award: All the students in the fifth or sixth term of bachelors degrees having a high academic score are eligible for this award. The students receive scholarships worth a subsidy of 1,000 EUR once a year. 
    • Discounts at ISM: Younger siblings of ISM students receive a 10% discount on the study fees for a period of six terms. The institute also grants a discount of 10% to the children of former students. For students of the ISM´s Bachelor programs, there is a 15% discount on a Master's degree.
    • ISM Best Thesis Award: The University offers this award once a year to the top 3 students who prepare outstanding thesis work. It is applicable to both bachelor’s and master’s students. The award amount ranges from 1000-300 EUR and a discount of 100-25% is given for further education.

The Career Center of International School of Management is the first point of contact for alumni with the college. It not only allows the alumni to take advantage of the available services like company events, career support, etc. but also helps in strengthening their network with other alumni, students, lecturers and staff members. 

Placements

The career Center of the International School of Management acts as an interface between alumni, students and companies. It prepares students for the various companies and career paths through career counseling, application coaching, interview simulation and assessment center training, etc. The Centre conducts various career and company events, excursions, etc. thereby offering an ideal platform for the exchange between theory and practice. The conversations with the alumni and companies also help the students in building up their professional network.
