Electrical engineering and information technology is a branch of technology that deals with the application of electricity theory in practice. A fundamental distinction can be made here between an energy-oriented, physically-constructive-material-oriented and an information-oriented orientation. The first type of alignment deals on the one hand with the generation of electrical energy in power plants, with the transport of electricity in cables and overhead lines as well as with the use of electrical current in electrical machines and systems.
