TISSNET Merit List 2023
There are certain factors taken into consideration while preparing the TISSNET merit list. Based on the merit list for each program, the list of selected candidates is put up on the website. Each candidate will also receive a scorecard indicating the marks for each component of the examination process.
The following things play a role in the preparation of the TISSNET 2023 merit list –
- The weightage for NET, PIT, and PI for General as well as for Reserved Category candidates is as shown: NET – 40%, PIT – 30%, PI – 30%.
- The merit list is prepared on the basis of merit and the preferences indicated while filling TISSNET Application Form
- Rules followed when there is a tie in the score of two candidates –
- Firstly, their PI marks will be compared and the one with more marks will be considered.
- If PI marks are also the same, their PIT marks will be compared and the one with more marks will be chosen.
- If PIT marks are the same too, then the Entrance test marks will be compared and the one with more marks will be selected.
- If entrance marks are also the same, then the candidate higher in age will be given the seat.
TISSNET Wait-List Preparation
TISSNET Wait-List Preparation
- Open/ unreserved merit list or OML is prepared from the candidate's aggregate marks and does not consider any reservation category so that students belonging to any category can be selected for OML based on this score.
- After OML candidates, a separate Category wise Merit List (CML) for the number of seats in each reserved category will be prepared in keeping with the regulations prepared by the Government of India. Reservation rules will apply at the final merit list.
- Candidates listed in the first merit list will not be listed in the second and third merit lists.
- Once a candidate is selected for a program of their preference, he/she will not be mentioned in the waitlist of any there program.
- Choice of programs in the application form cannot be changed after submission of the same.
Some rules have to be observed while undertaking the preparation of the wait-list for TISSNET. These rules are as stated below
- Candidates who get admission into their first preferred option will not be on wait lists for any other courses at all.
- Candidates, who are admitted into their second preferred option, will only be retained in the waitlist of their first preference. Those who get admission into any course which is their third preferred will be retained in the waitlist of their first and second preferences.
- Candidates, who get admitted in any course that is lower on their preference list, will be retained in the wait-list of a course that is higher on their list, till the seats in that course are filled.
- In case a candidate qualifies in more than one course simultaneously, when the waitlist is activated, the course that is higher on the list will prevail. Admission will be provided only into the one preferred more.
- If a candidate, who has been admitted in a course according to the first merit list, is later offered a higher course upon activation of the waitlist, he will be transferred into the better-preferred course and will be intimated.
