Ans. Yes, there are many students who are unable to clear IIFT but do well in CAT. The broad sections of IIFT are the same as CAT, except that they have the additional General Knowledge section. The weightage for the GK section is low. Also the type of questions in VARC and DILR is different. VARC: only 16 out of 35 Questions are Reading Comprehension. DILR: More Data Interpretation questions are present than Logical Reasoning. Out of a 300 mark paper only 30 marks is for GK which is 10% weightage. The cut offs for GK is also low, around 5 marks, which technically is 2 correct questions. Overall cut off for IIFT was 138 marks in a 2 hour paper whereas for CAT was 76 marks for 95 percentile. Therefore, IIFT is comparatively easier than CAT. NMAT is like the GMAT exam. You cannot go back to a question. You need to complete a section in a limited time. Here strategy is important. Skip the questions you do not know the answer to, because wasting time for that is not useful. The question type of NMAT has a specific pattern. You have 3 RCs, a few questions on Probability in the Quant section and one or more sets of Sequential Output tracing sets in Logic. Read more

Ans. If you are planning to take the NMAT exam, you might find it interesting that the exam is conducted in a unique way. Despite being driven by the profit motive, the exam's multiple windows, multiple slots, and multiple combinations of questions make it next to impossible to game the test. The exam does not give you the time to think about which questions to do, nor is it needed. During the exam, you will have to decide whether to attempt a question or skip it within a few seconds. If you decide to attempt it, you should try to solve it as quickly as possible. If you cannot solve it after trying, mark a random option and move on to the next question. There is no question palette, so you will not know how many questions you've attempted properly unless you're keeping count mentally. This might be difficult during the test due to time constraints. Scaling and normalization are used to ensure a uniform difficulty level for all test takers and evaluate them accordingly. Therefore, the premise that the last few days will negatively affect the score seems to be flawed. Moreover, there is no need to worry too much about the cutoffs for NMIMS Mumbai. It is better to try to maximize your score regardless of the cutoffs or scaling. If you are interested in pursuing a management program, you might want to consider NMIMS Mumbai. However, keep in mind that the cutoffs for this institute vary and can be difficult to predict accurately. It is also important to note that scoring above the cutoffs is not a guarantee for admission, as there is a lot of competition for a limited number of seats. If you want to enhance your chances of getting into a top-notch B-school, you may want to consider XLRI, which is particularly famous for finance. Gaining industry experience and taking up a finance course like CFA or FRM can also help you become eligible for the Indian School of Business and other world-renowned colleges. Remember that admission to a B-school is a combination of factors, including academic performance, aptitude, and personality, so focus on developing a well-rounded profile. Read more
Ans. To excel in CD-PI, you need to aim for a score of 217 in NMAT to increase your chances of converting an NMIMS Mumbai call. The CD round can be chaotic, with multiple aspirants trying to make their points heard. However, if you're lucky, you may have a good experience during the discussion. You'll be given a case study, and you'll have 15 minutes to discuss it with the 11-12 other aspirants. It's crucial to keep your points crisp and relevant, so prepare a short speech that conveys your ideas effectively. The PI round is entirely based on your Statement of Purpose (SOP). As you don't have work experience, it's essential to be well-versed in current affairs and important economic numbers. Elections and recent events may be the focus of the discussion. Make sure to give it your best shot and prepare thoroughly for the interview. Remember, the CD-PI round is an opportunity for you to showcase your communication skills and analytical abilities. So, be confident, articulate, and well-prepared. Read more

Ans. According to the recent trends, the NMIMS Mumbai NMAT cutoff is 208 (94%). Your score is on the boundary and thus serves as no guarantee for admission. The cutoff usually depends on the level of difficulty of the exam and ranges from 207â210. In addition, if you are a fresher or have work experience of fewer than 12 months, your chances for conversion are zero. But if you do have good work experience, the chances are still rare. All I can suggest to you is that you go for a retest and improve in the section you have flunked. Re-trying NMAT might get you a better score and thus increase your chances to an extent. Read more
