The program of Polymer Science and Engineering offered by CUSAT is one of the best in the country. The department of Polymer Science and Engineering is very old and well established. For my cousin, joining the course has been one of the best decisions that she ever made for her career.

  • The alumni of this department of CUSAT are working in many major polymer-based companies.
  • Only a few institutions in India offer this course to students who wish to pursue Polymer Science and Engineering.
  • The course is more concerned about the fields of sciences rather than engineering.
  • The faculty members of the institution are very well qualified and experienced in their respective fields.
  • The majority of the students who get enrolled in this program get recruited by companies in the Tyre industry.
  • Since the intake of students is limited, which is around 20 students each year for bachelor's, the relationship which develops between the different batches and the faculty members is very strong.
  • The placement cell of the University is extremely active and provides full support to the students during recruitment drives.
  • Some major recruiters include Reliance Industries Limited, SRF Limited, Apollo Tyres Limited, and CEAT Ltd.
Categories Polymer Science Engineering at CUSAT
Course Fee 70,560
Course Duration 4 years
Highest CTC 8-10 LPA
Average CTC 3.5-5 LPA

I think this would help you in understanding the program of Polymer Science and Engineering which is being offered by CUSAT in a better manner.

ICT Mumbai is known for its popular courses in Engineering and Pharmacy and has been ranked at 18 for Engineering by NIRF in 2020. It is also the only other institute in the country to be accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Let us have a look at the future prospects after completing a BTech degree in Polymer Engineering and Technology from ICT Mumbai.

Course Scope:

Students need to be clear on what their expectations from the course are. There are a couple of options you can choose from once you complete your BTech in Polymer Engineering and Technology.

Placement Opportunities:

If you are looking to apply for a well-paying job right after graduation, ICT Mumbai provides students with placement assistance and observes top companies across the country as part of their recruitment drives.

  • In 2019, the institution saw a placement rate of 70% in the Polymer engineering batch with 15.5 LPA being the highest CTC package.

  • Students can expect to apply for jobs in core companies like Nerolac, SRF Ltd, TATA motors, and many others which are part of the university’s placement services.

Higher Studies:

Students can choose to plan and apply for higher studies in top universities in the country or abroad, depending on their preference. Being a graduate from ICT Mumbai will surely help students to seek the best academic institution for their higher studies.

  • Students can opt for an MS in material tech or a related specialization, an MBA degree, if you are inclined towards the business perspective of Polymers or one, can even start preparing for IAS examinations to broaden their horizons.

  • Some students also prefer to do their Ph.D. from a top institution in a relevant field after completing their masters, so that option is also open for students.

  • Most students apply for universities abroad and study to become a Polymer technologist.

Based on the given pointers above, students can get a better idea of what the future prospects of a BTech degree in Polymer Engineering and Technology are and make an informed choice accordingly.
