Footwear Design and Development Institute, also referred to as FDDI, was established in 1986, under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India. FDDI Hyderabad offers 3 B.Des specializations, BBA, and MBA courses.

Admissions to B.Des are on the basis of UCEED/AIST
Admission to BBA and MBA are on the basis of AIST scores.
Eligibility for the B.Des and BBA courses is 10 + 2.
Candidates should be more than 25 years as of 1st July 2022 (for UG courses).
Eligibility for the MBA courses is a Bachelor’s degree in any specialization.

The institute has a placement rate of 83%, with top recruiters including famous companies such as Nike, Decathlon, and many more. Scholarships are not offered by the institute itself, but national scholarships are accepted.

The B.Des courses are of 4 years duration each, and the BBA course is for 3 years.
The upper age limit for applying to the course is 25 years, as of 1st July 2022.
The intake for each B.Des course is 75, while the intake for the BBA course is 60.

There is no upper age limit to apply.
Candidates appearing in their final year may also apply.
However, such candidates are required to submit a final year at the time of admission. In case candidates fail in the final year exams, their admission shall be canceled.

Ans. Ques. What are the methods of reaching FDDI Hyderabad?

Ans. FDDI Hyderabad is at a 30 min distance from RGI Airport Hyderabad. It is also 19 Km away from the Secunderabad railway station and 13 km from Hyderabad railway station. From the MG Bus Station, it is 14 km away.

Ques. Are there any accommodation facilities?

Ans. Yes, hostel facilities are provided. The hostels have well-furnished rooms. The boy’s hostel has a capacity of 288, while the girl’s hostel can accommodate 144. The hostel is offered on the first-cum-first-serve basis and the fee is to be paid at the beginning of each semester in advance.

Ques. Does the FDDI Hyderabad offer scholarships?

Ans. No, FDDI does not offer any scholarship of its own. Students from all FDDI campuses can apply for scholarships offered by government agencies as per their processes and eligibility criteria. The institute only facilitates the process by processing/ forwarding scholarship applications of eligible students as per the defined criteria.

Ans. No, any request for a change in the examination center will not be entertained at any stage after the application process.
