Aspirants seeking admission to the Program must have Graduated from any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST category, minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Admissions will be based on the merits obtained in the Entrance Test conducted by the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University and mark obtained in graduation in the ratio of 60:40.
- Preparation of Merit list: The merit will be calculated as under:
- Graduation Marks: 40% weightage
- Entrance Examination Scores: 60% weightage.
Note: In case the number of applications received is less than twice the number of seats available for the said course, personal interaction and graduation marks will be considered for the final declaration of result.
- Format for Entrance Exams:
General Knowledge questions will be asked in the Entrance test. There will be 50 objective type questions of 100 marks, the duration of the test will be 60 minutes. There will be no negative marking.
- Reservation of Seats: The seats shall be reserved for the candidate who are origin of Gujarat and falling under the following categories, namely:-
- Scheduled Caste: 7%
- Scheduled Tribe: 15%
- Socially and Educationally Backward Class (OBC/SEBC): 27%
- Physically Challenged: 3%
- A candidate seeking admission to the reserved seat shall be required to produce a Certificate of Caste from which he originates. Provided that a candidate belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Class shall be required to produce a certificate to the effect of non-inclusion in Creamy Layer in addition to the caste certificate.
- No caste certificate shall be valid unless it is duly stamped, signed and issued by the authority empowered by the government of Gujarat. If a candidate fails to submit the certificates as required under above mention rules within the stipulated time, his candidature shall be considered for admission under an unreserved category. The admission of a student of the reserved category on a reserved seat shall be valid subject to the verification of caste certificate by the authority empowered by the State Government in this behalf. In case the caste certificate is found invalid on verification, he shall not have right to claim his admission on a reserved seat and if he has been already granted admission, such admission shall be canceled. After granting admission to all the students of reserved categories on reserved seats, the reserved category seats remaining vacant shall be transferred to the unreserved category seats.
- NRI Seats: A limited number of seats will be offered through a separate channel called ‘direct admission of Foreign and NRI students (Non-Resident Indians)’. In case, such candidates are not available, the vacant seats will be allotted to the interested candidates coming through entrance test on merit basis with equivalent NRI fee structure.
