Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) offers academic programs at the postgraduate level in youth development, engages in research in youth development, and coordinates training programs.
At PG level college offers Master of Science in Counselling Psychology, Master of Arts in four specializations and Master of Social Work in Youth and Community Development). Under UG Domain, the institute offers a full-time program i.e. Bachelor of Vocation in two specializations. The RGNIYD offers interdisciplinary doctoral programs on youth studies.

RGNIYD conducts its admission through the proper application process and as per University norms;
- Candidates seeking admission at UG level must have completed their 10+2 level education from a recognized board of education.
- Admission for all the above Master degree programs shall be based on the qualifying marks in the undergraduate program/ entrance test/ group discussion and other methods as prescribed by the Departments.
- Candidates who have completed Post Graduation can apply for a research program i.e. Ph.D after qualifying All India Entrance Examination (UGC - CSIR NET, UGC- NET JRF) comprising written test and interview.
- Candidate has to fill an application form and the selected candidate has to present in the interview.
- Admissions to UG course is based on the merit of academics and entrance test as prescribed by the Departments.
The Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur was set up in 1993 under the Societies Registration Act, XXVII of 1975, and located at Sriperumbudur, a place in Chennai city of Tamil Nadu. It is an Institution of National Importance by the Act of Parliament No. 35/2012 under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
