L.L.B. or Bachelor of Legislative Law is the graduate law degree offered by Indian universities. The course duration for L.L.B. is generally three years. However there are two options to pursue an undergraduate law degree. One is 3 years course whose eligibility is graduation and the other is integrated which is five year duration course for 10+2 pass students. Graduates from any field can opt for the LLB course. Law education in India was started in 1987. The BCI (Bar Council of India) is the main regulatory body of Law education in India. The first law University in India was established in Bangalore named as “National Law School of India University”. Currently there are 16 National Law Universities in India. Apart from these universities there are about 100 other law schools in India.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should have passed Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with minimum 45% Marks in aggregate for Open Category candidates and 40% marks in aggregate in case of SC and ST applicants.

Admission Guidelines

Eligibility for Appearing to MAH-LL.B (3 YEAR) CET 2017-
The candidate should be an Indian Citizen.
The candidate should also fulfil the following eligibility criteria for following candidature types:-
Types of Maharashtra State Candidature:- a candidate who is Domicile of Maharashtra or born in Maharashtra, or 

  1. TYPE-A:- the Father or Mother of the Candidate is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra, or
  2. TYPE-B:- the Father or Mother of the Candidate is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking who is posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submitting the Application Form for CAP, or 
  3. TYPE-C:-the Father or Mother of the Candidate is an employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking, or 
  4. TYPE-D:- the Candidates passing SSC and or HSC Examination or Equivalent Examination from a recognized institution from a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

All India Candidature:-The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category. 

Minority Candidature:-The Maharashtra domiciled Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community within the State and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category
