Latest Update: IHM, Hajipur will soon be declaring the time-table for the semester-end examination of Diploma courses for the academic session (2020-21). However, students are required to collect the Examination Form of the NCHMCT Component from the academic department as well as the institute’s website and submit it within the prescribed time. 

Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Hajipur offers two Diploma programs in Food Production and Food & Beverage Service. The institute is also known as The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHMCT&AN) which is an autonomous hospitality management institute. 

The Diploma course at IHM is offered for a duration of 1.5 years of which one year is dedicated to intensive training in the institute and the remaining six months in industrial training in well-established hotels anywhere in India. 

The minimum eligibility to apply for the Diploma courses is 10+2 and the admission is done through an MCQ-based entrance exam conducted by the institute itself.

IHM Hajipur Diploma Course Details 

IHM, Hajipur offers two Diploma courses that are tabulated below:

Course Duration 

The duration of the Diploma courses at IHM is 1.5 years long divided into 3 semesters. However, the maximum duration of the course is 3 years divided into 6 semesters. 

Prescribed Coursework 

• The courses have over 35 teaching hours every week along with 24-week industrial training after the annual examination.
• The curriculum of the courses is divided into theory and practical subjects.
• The exams will be held twice before six months of industrial training.
• The final result at the conclusion of the first year will give 30% weightage to the Mid Term Exam and 70% weightage to the End Term Exam Marks. 
• Students must have 75% attendance to be eligible for the annual examination.
• The minimum marks to pass theory subject will be 40% while for the practical exams will be 50%.
