Mechanical Engineering is the oldest branch of engineering. It was emerged as field of study in 18th century when industrial revolution took place in Europe. Now there are about 4300 engineering colleges in India including Institutes of National Importance i.e. IITs, NITs private colleges and universities like BITS Pilani, VIT etc.
First thing any engineering aspirant considers while choosing a branch is placement, Which branch is in demand nowadays? Which engineering graduates are the highest paid in current scenario? These are some questions that arise when admissions in engineering colleges start. Apart from this palcement criteria there are some other parameters which should be considered while choosing a discipline like- what are the research opportunities, what is scope of career growth etc.

Both the campus has their own merits and demerits. Go through the following points to find out.
These are the basic difference between the two campuses. Now, it’s up to you to choose which is better for you.
My cousin studies at CGC Jhanjeri and it's a nice and average place to be. Following are some issues though, which may be burdensome:
Hostel, mess food, cleanliness, room Sharing are not any issues at all. You will not have to worry about ragging too. You can go to Chandigarh for shopping after getting your passbook filled and signed by the Warden.
However, you cannot bunk because the campus is small, you can get discovered very easily and may face some good punishment. As for placements, it all depends upon research-based hard work and skills. Major companies do visit for recruitment.
CGC Landran is the better option for CSE. The department has a good faculty base. The professors try their level best to cooperate with students. There are regular CR meetings, to resolve the problems students are facing. The institute organizes TPP lectures, and training sessions from the first year, itself.
CSE has a 100% placement rate. Microsoft, Google, Adobe, TCS, etc. visit CGC Landran campus placements regularly. The average package for the branch is around INR 3-4 LPA.
CGC Landran and CGC Jhanjeri are the same and run by the same management. The faculties of the college are also the same. The placements for both campuses take place at the same time. The students sit together for their placements.
I have a few friends at both institutes and most of them recommend Chandigarh Engineering college Landran campus over Jhanjeri campus because this campus is the oldest, the environment is good, and it is located near to Mohali.
CGC Landran is better in terms of infrastructure and faculty members as well. The CSC department of this college is good. According to the recent placement highlights the average and highest CTC offered at the institutes is 7 LPA and 35 LPA.
Choose CGC Landran, if you are getting your proffered branch. It is the main campus. Other than this fact, there are no such differences between the two campuses. Academics, faculty, and facilities offered are almost similar in both. CGC Landran placements are the same as CGC Jhanjeri. As students sit for the same placements dive.
LPU will provide you with the best infrastructure and a great environment for skill development and would be the potential choice over CGC Jhanjeri. Although the teaching members are excellent, there is still a significant number of illiterate educated people.

Average CTC | 7 LPA | 7.08 LPA |
Entrance Criteria | LPUNEST | JEE MAIN |
Fees | 6.72 LPA | 3.62 LPA |
Overall, LPU is a decent college if you are interested in pursuing a Bachelor's degree, with a few drawbacks that can be traded for the benefits and exposure obtained. University management is one of the best in India. Many B-schools has a case study of LPU Management in their curriculum.
According to the student’s review online, CGC Jhanjeri has earned this reputation by providing the best quality of education and improving as per industry needs.
The college has one of the best placements for which it has received an Award for Quality Placements by ABP News. Below are the figures.
