School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Ahmedabad University offers admission to its undergraduate B.Tech programs on the basis of performance at the qualifying level, and the performance in GUJCET, through the statewide ACPC counseling process. Candidates should have passed at the 10+2 level from the Science stream to be eligible to apply.

Candidates should have passed at the undergraduate level from the relevant stream to be eligible to apply.

A notification will be released by the committee, following which the application forms will be released via the official website
The application form should be duly filled in with all personal and academic details.
Candidates must submit the duly filled in form, along with uploaded photographs and photocopies of marks cards, within the stipulated time.
Online payment of the application fee can be done through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card.
Candidates must retain a print out of this completed form with them at the time of counseling.

For Ph.D programs

Go to the official website and go to the ‘Admissions’ tab.
Under the Ph.D. programs list, click on the ‘Application Form’ link.
Upon downloading the application form, candidate should fill in all necessary details, reaffirming their authenticity thoroughly.
Completed applications with the photograph affixed must be submitted along with the application fee.
The demand draft for INR 250 must be made in favor of ‘Ahmedabad University’, payable at Ahmedabad.

Should I opt for PDPU CS or SEAS ICT?

Both PDPU and SEAS are ranked amongst the top 5 engineering institutes in Gujarat. However, PDPU is ranked 1st according to NIRF, for petroleum engineering. SEAS has international collaborations with Boston University, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania to help students indulge in global immersion programmes and invite guest lecturers as well.

Infrastructure:

PDPU

The Library and Information Centre provides automated user access and a plethora of online services.
It has state-of-the-art infrastructure with 24*7 high-speed WIFI campus and smart classrooms.

SEAS

The infrastructure at SEAS fosters the idea of project-based learning.
The Teaching labs in the ICT department provide opportunities to promote original research with more than 300 terminals and huge scale of software applications.

Faculty:

PDPU

The faculty members of CS hold recognitions and many research papers published in fields of Information Security, Cryptography and information protection.
They tirelessly work to build competent Computer Science and Engineering skills.
Faculty to student ratio is 1:30.

SEAS

The faculty members are not just experts in ICT real-life applications but they also indulge in Competitive programming, designing and coding activities, organising hackathons and workshops for students to learn and grow.
Teacher to student ratio here is 1:25.

PDPU

The chief recruiting companies are Federal Bank, WhitePanda, CTS, Infosys, Quicko and Silver touch. Other notable features are:

SEAS

The major recruiters are TCS, Mindtree, Agrusoft, Alliencall, Vodafone tec. Other key highlights are:

ICT is overall diversified than CS, but it also demands extra efforts from the student's side. Though CS is the most sought after branch in the job industry, it is up to the student to analyse and follow his/her area of interest.

Which is better, PDPU ICT or SEAS ICT?

Both PDPU and SEAS are very good and reputed colleges. PDPU is a member of AIU and is NAAC accredited with an 'A' grade. NIRF has ranked the university at 55th in overall and 1st in Gujarat whereas SEAS is ranked at 60.

To compare both of these well-governed and well-facilitated universities, we have to look at all the perspectives possible.

Courses:

PDPU being very diverse having many sub-branches and special courses in petroleum. It comprises a total of 16 courses in which 9 courses are offered in bachelor of technology.
SEAS offers a total of 4 courses in which 3 courses are offered in bachelor of technology.

Admissions:

PDPU:

For admission in Bachelor of technology, one must secure 45% marks in Intermediate Examination with a valid score in GUJCET and JEE Main.
Last year cut off for GUJCET was Round 2 | rank 1489. For JEE Mains it changes per year and according to university.
A total of 180 seats are available per course.
The course fee is almost 9.50 lakhs.

SEAS:

For Admission in Bachelor of Technology, one must secure 45% in intermediate examination with a valid score in JEE Main and GUJCET.
Last year cut off for GUJCET was Round 2 | Rank 1330. JEE Mains cut off is not exact.
A total of 120 seats are available per course
The course fee is 6.52 lakhs.

Both the universities are good in their own way, having a well-versed syllabus, a diverse crowd, and capable faculty. The academics in both universities are renowned all over the state. Both the universities are newly established, so there is a well maintained and well-facilitated campus and infrastructure. Some may say one is best and others say ‘No’ other is, but looking at the statistics, there is not enough difference in these two universities to determine which is “The Best”.
