Government Mohindra College is a 141 Years old educational institution which was established in the year 1875. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Science and Computer Stream.
In addition to the regular courses, the college also offers a few professional courses. Students looking forward to pursue a career in law can choose 5-year B.A. LLB course. Additionally, graduates can also go for short term PG Diploma courses which are of 1 year only.
Admission to the Mohindra College is done on the basis of merit of marks obtained in the qualifying exam. A student aspiring for taking admission in the institution will have to appear in person before admission committee. After recommendation by the admission committee, the approval is given by the Principal for admission.
- Applications process in the Mohindra College begins in the month of June-July every year.
- Admission after the last date is also available with late fees ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2000 as per delay
- Admission with late fee is only expected upto one month from the last date
- Total intake of Mohindra College is approximately 1,500 seats per year

- A course can be started only if minimum ten students get selected for admission.
- Candidates from other states can also apply for admission. Such students will have to obtain eligibility certificate from Punjabi University, Patiala prior to admission in the institution.
- A few seats are reserved for certain categories as follows:
- 25% for Scheduled Caste
- 5% for Backward Class
- 3% for handicap
- 2% for sports
- 2% for the children, grandchildren of freedom fighters
- 2% for wards of teachers/employees of education department
- 2% for wards of victims(50% disabled) of terrorist/police actions, migrated Sikhs.
- 2% for wards of Armed Force / CRPF / BSF / Police personnel (in service, retired, expired during service)
