NIEPMD Admission 2024: UG & PG, Eligibility, Form, Last Date to Apply

Established in 2005, the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities is located in East Coast Road, Muttukadu, Chennai to empower people with Multiple Disabilities such as Low Vision, Blindness, Locomotor Disability, Hearing Impairment, Mental Retardation, Mental Illness, Leprosy Cured Persons and suchlike.

The institution offers various courses like B. ASLP, B.P.T. and B.O.T., M. Phil. and PG Diploma course and CCCG and special education courses. NIEPMD works under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and Govt. of India.

  • Candidates can apply for admissions via offline mode by mailing the filled application form.
  • Application fee of INR 500 for the general category and INR 350 for SC / ST/PH has to be paid by demand draft in favour of Director NIEPMD.
  • To apply for any UG course, candidates must have passed 10+2 from a board recognized by the Government of India which is the basic eligibility.
  • Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree to apply for any post-graduation courses.
  • Selection of eligible candidates in all courses will be based on merit in the qualifying examination except BPT, BOT, B.ASLP.
  • Selection of eligible candidates in BASLP will be based on valid scores in NEET.
  • Candidates will also have to go through Common Entrance Test for BPT.
  • For BOT selection is based on CET for All India quota and counselling based as conducted by DMETN for State Quota.
  • Merit list will be released by the concerned authorities on the official website of NIEPMD.

NIEPMD UG Admission 2023

Candidates who have passed their 10+2 from the relevant subjects can apply for Bachelors in Physiotherapy, Bachelors in Occupational therapy, Bachelors in Audiology Speech-Language Pathology. For B.Ed. Special Education from NIEPMD, candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree.

Candidates will also have to go through Common Entrance Test for BPT whereas for BOT selection is based on CET for All India quota and counselling based as conducted by DMETN for State Quota. Selection of eligible candidates in BASLP will be based on valid scores in NEET.

Key Points:

  • Few seats for SC/ST/OBC candidates are reserved in B.ASLP, BOT and BPT courses as per the rules and norms set by the state and central government.
  • Minimum qualifying marks for B.Ed. special education is tabulated below:

NIEPMD PG Admission 2023

Those candidates who have multiple disability can apply for post-graduation course from NIEPMD. Candidates need to have a relevant bachelor’s degree in order to apply for post-graduation in NIEPMD. Other than this, all the eligibility criteria are mentioned below in the tabular form.

A merit list would be released on the official site of NIEPMD on the basis of qualifying marks of candidates and availability of seats. Candidates can check the list online and if selected, need to pay the required fees in the college campus itself.

M.A Social Work Disability Studies B.A. in social work with minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Key Points:

  • Reservation in PG Diploma and M.A Social Work is imposed as per the norms of the Government of Madras.
  • Reservation in M.Ed. Special Education is exercised on the basis of rules set by Indian Central Government, particularly for SC/ST/ OBS candidates.

NIEPMD Diploma and Special Courses Admission 2023

Candidates with multiple disabilities can apply for diploma and special courses such as Certificate Course in Care Giving and D.Ed. Special Education in various specification. The eligibility criterion is different for different course specification as elaborated in the tabular form below. Merit list would be announced on NIEPMD’s official website and if candidates are selected, they need to visit the college campus in person for further admission process.

Key Points:

  • Reservation for ST/SC/OBC/PwD/KM/WW and North East candidates shall be exercised as per GOI rules & Orders of EC
  • 5% relaxation in qualifying marks shall be given to SC/ST applicants.
  • Minimum age to apply for any Multiple Disabilities Diploma and special courses is 18-year.

NIEPMD Application Process 2023

Candidates can apply for under graduation, post-graduation, Diploma and special courses via offline mode by visiting the college campus in person. Respective application process 2020 for NIEPMD is elaborated below point-wise:

  • Candidates need to first download the application form 2020 from the official website of NIEPMD.
  • Fill in the form with genuine and accurate details and submit in in the college office.
  • They need to make the application fee payment as stated which may vary from course to course.
  • Payment of INR 500 for general category and INR 350 for SC / ST/PH must be made either in the form of cash or Demand Draft drawn in the favor of “National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities”.
  • Candidates need to enclose two Photostat copies of the below mentioned certificates:
    1. 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
    2. Transfer or Migration Certificate
    3. Provisional degree with all the mark sheets of graduation.
    4. Certificate of any other course ever done.
    5. Two stamp sized colored photograph with white background.
    6. Candidate’s id proof (Aadhar card/ voter id card/ PAN card)
  • A merit list would be generated and displayed on the official website of NIEPMD.
  • Once candidates are shortlisted and their names show up in the merit list, they are required to visit the campus in person and submit the first semester fees.

Note: Candidates must to fill in all the details in the application form correctly or else if reveled, they might lose their candidature.
