· Annamalai University, Kolkata
· Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi
Students who wish to continue studies after completion of their B.Tech. degree in IT have multiple options to choose from. An obvious option is an M.Tech. degree in Information Technology. Some other options are listed below:
I know a little about these courses as a few of my friends are currently pursuing them. Here are some of the information regarding SOE and CUCEK in CUSAT.
If you have a better option than CUSAT then you should look for that option but if this is the only good option, then go for it.
A few of my friends are studying in both colleges and there is absolutely no difference – not even a minute one between the two colleges. Placements are the same and in fact, more students are also getting placed from CUCEK as per what recent surveys have concluded. Additionally, the placement cell for both these colleges is the same and is situated on the main campus.
Probably the only thing that might cause a little bit of hindrance is travel. You might have to travel to the SOE campus every time a company is visiting for hiring or placing students. You will have to go to Ernakulam from Alleppy which is a good 2-hour drive by road. This might pose as a minor set back but the college arranges for this transport so eventually, you will not have any issues.
Coming to placements at CUSAT, about 60 different companies visit the campus for the recruitment drive. So, you will have a number of options to look forward to when you begin applying. As of 2020, about 300 offers were made in the college with the highest CTC of INR 15 LPA and an average CTC of INR 4.7 LPA. The number of placements being offered has increased over the past three years.
Some of the major companies that recruit students include Cisco, TCS, L&T, Tata Steel, and Vedanta.
If placement is your primary concern at CUCEK or CUSAT, you do not need to be worried. You will be a student of a really good university so your future will definitely be bright.
In Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) engineering is offered by SOE (Kochi) whereas in CUCEK engineering is offered by (Alappuzha). Having friends studying in both the colleges, I can say that they are equally good.

There’s not a single reason for not opting IT in these colleges. IT is a demanding branch and has potential to grow in the future as do these colleges.
CUSAT is a very reputed institution according to students, It has two campuses one is in Kochi and the other is in Kuttanad. The second campus is quite similar to the first one in parameters like:
The campus offers degrees which are equivalent to the Kochi campus in all terms as in it’s the university through which both the colleges are affiliated. The reputation stands unaltered.
Placements are not separate for both the campuses; all students sit at a single go whether belonging to Kochi or Kuttanad.
Examinations are designed in a homogenous manner. No difference stands in between the campuses. The pattern & style of marking also is a prominent feature to look up to.
The quality of studies is the only thing that is not compromised while the marking scheme is managed with respect to campuses. All the faculties are quite experienced and have great exposure to real & practical experiences.
The fact that needs to be kept in mind is that Kochi is a metro city making it more preferable as it gives easy access to different facilities & services while Kuttanad is located in a village making it difficult to locate good hangout places and entertainment modes in that location.
Nevertheless; the engineering experience at both the places is quite awesome and leads to a great career graph ahead.
The campus of CUSAT at Kuttanad is not that good when compared to the campus at Cochin. CUCEK is located in Pulikunu in the Allepey district. But the campus of Cochin is the most preferred one.
Following are some reasons to avoid taking admission at CUSAT Kuttanad campus:
You can easily evaluate the condition of Kuttanad campus through the above-mentioned points.
Like every campus, the CUSAT sub-campus that is CUCEK has its pros and cons.
The following points discuss the cons of the campus:
Some merits of CUCEK are as follows:
These are some pros and cons of CUCEK which will help you understand the concept of the college in a better way and to make your decision right.
