Candidates can obtain the Application Form in person from the 60 centres (detailed on Anna University’s official website) by paying Rs.500/-(Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, on production of a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) towards application fee, by cash/demand draft.

Application Forms can also be obtained by post from "The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), Anna University, Chennai-600025" by sending a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.700/- (Rs.450/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu with a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) and an address label written in capital letters to which the application form is to be mailed

The candidates can also register through internet by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tnea2015; the procedure for registration is available in the website. All Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions” payable at Chennai, drawn on any Nationalised Bank dated on or after 05th May 2015

Candidates are instructed to write the name and address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft

Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants seeking admission to 4 year Full-time BE Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

Academic Requirement:

Candidate should have Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical subject as the third subject. The candidate must have a combined aggregate minimum of 50% marks in general category.
For backward class including backward class, including Muslim is 45%
For SC/ST/MBC/DNC is 40%.

Admission Guidelines

Candidate must appear for TNEA 2019 for selection.

Which one should I choose, CUSAT SOE or GEC Kannur/NSS Palakkad?

GEC and NSS Palakkad come under KTU whereas CUSAT SOE is a university. NSS is a government-aided college and GEC is a government college, the facilities and the faculty are at similar levels.

As KTU is a newly established university, here are some insights you need to have a look at.

One of my friends currently studies in NSS and because KTU is newly formed, the ordinance is not fully framed.
Most of the teachers and students of NSS and GEC are against the norms of the university. Hence, you must be prepared to be amidst recurring clashes.
Because of this instability, the pass percentage in all the colleges including NSS and GEC which are under KTU seems to decrease every year.

Now, in comparison to CUSAT SOE, here are some differences you must know.

CUSAT SOE is affiliated with its own university as compared to GEC and NSS. It has a better ranking than KTU and its affiliated colleges.
At CUSAT you can grab better placement opportunities at core companies as compared to GEC and NSS if you are not in the IT sector.
CUSAT SOE has a huge advantage of being situated in a prime location of Kochi.
The city is known as the financial and industrial capital of Kerala.

Overall, CUSAT SOE has an upper hand over the other two colleges of KTU. As KTU faces various instabilities due to unestablished ordinances, it hinders the performance of students. If you need to choose between GEC and NSS, NSS Palakkad is better with well-qualified teachers.
