National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) located in Kolkata, is one of the 3 campuses. It is affiliated to Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata (MAKAUT) and was established in 1965.
NITTTR is a Government (of India) funded, autonomous institute is basically for training teachers at the degree level programs in technical education. Thus, the institute offers research activities to improve training. It also has collaborations with ASEAN and SAARC countries.
At present, admissions are offered in M.Tech and Ph.D. courses only. Applications for admissions are available in the pdf format on the official website. A completed form must be sent or submitted at the institute’s window.

To be eligible for admissions to the M.Tech program, the students must score 55% in B.E/B.Tech in a relevant discipline. Also, preference will be given to only those who score 55% in B.E/B.Tech and have qualified GATE.
Ph.D. admissions are offered to those applicants who either qualify UGC-NET or JRF or SET (for direct admission) or to those who have completed a relevant master’s degree. Indirect admissions include an entrance followed by an interview.
