State Institute of Education, Chandigarh established in 1981, was built to encourage students to have a peak into higher education and make them determined to excel in their chosen fields with the best of knowledge and know-how. It has a broad vision of expanding teachers’ horizons and acquainting them with new theories and techniques of teaching in order to promote professional development. It has a laborious team of teachers who are always looking for newer ways and working closely to bring about a positive change. It offered Junior Basic Training (JBT) from 1981-85 which was later re-launched and introduced as Elementary Teacher’s Training ( ETT) in 1995. The course was again changed to D.El.Ed Diploma in Elementary Education in 2010.
