Aspirants seeking admission in this program should meet the following criteria

Academic Requirements

Unmarried candidates of either sex, less than 24 years of age
Candidates who have passed
- 3-years Engineering Diploma in Marine /Mechanical/Electrical/Electrical & Electronics, from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma Course
  [OR]
- 4-years Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma Course
  [OR]
- 1st year training from the Alternate Training Scheme, approved y D G Shipping
  [OR]
- 1st year from the Engineering College in other streams like Mechanical or Electrical approved by AICTE with minimum 60% average marks

3 years Diploma course in the following categories, from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of Diploma Course:
- Mechanical Engineering Stream:
  Automobile/Machine Tools and Maintenance/Plant Engineering/Production Technology/Production Engineering/Advanced Diploma in Tool and Die Making
- b. Electrical Engineering Stream:
  Electrical Power System
- c. Electrical and Electronics Engineering Stream:

If you have a choice between Indian Maritime University and Tolani Maritime Institute, you should choose the latter. I have friends from both these institutes. Based on their experiences, I will say Tolani Maritime Institute is better than IMU in terms of facilities, faculties, management, training, placement. According to the recent placement highlights, the placement average is 80%. Some of the major recruiters that visit the campus placements are Teekey, NYK, MSI, etc.

How is Amet university if compare to Tolani maritime institute(TMI) if you compare them?

Tolani Maritime Institute is better than Amet University. It offers better training, academics, and placement. The course curriculum followed at TMI is innovative, it will help you think outside the box. The curriculum lays good emphasis on soft skills like communication, design software, and other various subjects. The faculty base is excellant. Most of the faculty members have years of experience in their respective fields.
