Sundargarh Engineering College (SEC), Sundargarh was established in 2007. It is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Institute. The vision of the institute is to provide technical empowerment of the nation’s youth and facilitating research and development and consultancy. The mission of the institution is to provide the best facilities, resources and faculty in order to facilitate an exemplary learning environment. It is situated at Kirei just at a motorable distance from the District headquarter town Sundargarh and is most easily approachable by the State Highway-10 connecting Sambalpur-Jharsuguda-Sundargarh & Rourkela.

The hostel is available for both boys and girls separately with accommodation capacity of 500 male students and 500 female students.
