Sri Dharmasthala Manjunathasthwara College of Engineering and Technology (SDMCET) is situated at Dhavalagiri in Dharwad in the state of Karnataka. The College was established in 1979 and is affiliated with Visveswaraian Technological University (VTU) Belgaum. It is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi.

SDM College of Engineering and Technology offers full time four years Under Graduate (UG) course in various disciplines of Engineering (B.E.), Post Graduate course in various branches of Engineering (M.Tech) of two years, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) of two years.

Admissions in UG courses are done through State Level Entrance Examinations which are- Under Graduate Entrance Test COMEDK-UGET which is conducted by Consortium of Medical and Dental Colleges of Karnataka and Karnataka Common Entrance Test (government Quota).
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination with Physics, Mathematics, English as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biology/ Electronics/Biotechnology/Computer Science as an optional subject with 45% of marks are eligible to take admission in B.E programs through Entrance Exam (COMEDK, KCET) or through Management Quota.
Candidates having Diploma/Bachelor in Science (B.Sc.) can take admission in Under Graduate courses directly into third semester (Lateral Entry).
Candidates seeking admission in Lateral Entry course must have appeared in DCET.
All those candidates having Bachelor in Technology or Bachelor in Engineering are eligible to take admission in Post Graduate Master of Technology (M.Tech.) department.
Candidates should have appeared in Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (Karnataka PGCET) to take admission in M.Tech course.
Candidates having graduate and equivalent degree obtained through 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification are eligible to take admission in Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses.
Admission in MBA course is through Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) conducted by Karnataka Post Graduate College Association (KPPGCA).

SDMCET offers full-time Bachelor course in various disciplines of Engineering for those candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination with Physics, Mathematics, English as compulsory and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics as an optional subject. SDMCET accepts admissions through three selection process which are- COMEDK, KCET (Government Quota) and Management Quota. Candidates who have scored minimum 45% marks in 10+2 are eligible to take Entrance Examination.

Candidates who have passed Diploma or any Equivalent exam in Karnataka or having B.Sc degree and obtained a minimum of aggregate 45% of marks and who have appeared in DCET are eligible to take admission in Undergraduate course directly into the third semester in the Lateral entry.

Reservation is confined to the candidates belonging to Karnataka state.
Reserved category candidates having minimum 40% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, English as compulsory and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics as an optional subject are eligible for entrance-based examination.
For KCET, candidates must have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognized educational institutions located in the Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years commencing from 1^st standard to 12^th. Standard.

College offers two years, full-time Master course in various departments of Engineering for those candidates having aggregate 50% marks in all the subjects for all the year of Graduate or Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering discipline, obtained through 10+2+4 system. For admissions in Master’s candidates must have appeared in Post Graduation Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA)

For those candidates who were seeking admission in Master of Business Administration (MBA) having 50% marks in all the subjects for all the year of degree obtained through 10+2+3 system, has to appear in Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate College Association (KPPGCA).

SDMCET IS BEST COLLEGE FOR ENGINEERING

What I Liked

College provides about 90% placements every year.
College provides internship every year for all students.
College location is greener and cleaner.

What I didn’t like

College is located in outskirts of the city
Some facilities are not supportive as much
There are strict rules for hostelities regarding timings.

Remarks:

As I am in Dharwad there are no engineering colleges near to my home addition to that SDM is the best and well known college for engineering because it provides best placements every year and also internships.

JOURNEY IN SDMCET

What I Liked

The food of our hostel is authentic , a good level food which includes snacks as well at the evening time
Anti ragging, this is the main aspect aspect the ragging process makes students depressed and number ,in our college ragging is strictly prohibited
Teaching faculty, our teaching staff is friendly and it is well experienced

What I didn’t like

The length of our campus is vast so we need to walk a good distance to travel from one place to another
As our college is strict it is prohibited for us hostilities to go out after 8 pm it is mandatory for us to walk in the campus before 8 pm

Remarks:

The eligibility of course through mangement is just passing the 2nd puc . But through KCET and COMEDk we need some specialized rankings . There is no entry exam if we are taking admission from KCET . The admission staff should be more friendly and should help the persons who come for admission more
