Important Updates for RGIT

RGIT Mumbai BE admission 2024 is done through the MHT CET exam. The tentative MHT CET dates 2024 have been announced. The online application form will be released in March 2024. The MHT CET 2024 exam is to be held from April 16 to May 2, 2024.
RGIT Mumbai ME Admissions are based on the GATE 2024 score. The registration process for GATE is over and the admit card will be released on January 03 onwards. GATE 2024 will occur on 03, 04, and 10, 11 February 2024.

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT) is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Established in 1992, the university offers multiple undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various branches of engineering and technology. RGIT offers a total of five undergraduate programs and four postgraduate programs each academic year.

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate courses must have completed senior secondary school and their selection based on qualifying examination merit. Candidate must have appeared and qualified “Common Entrance Test” (MHT-CET) for admission to the undergraduate programs. He/she must hold an undergraduate degree from a reputed university in order to register and fill in the application forms for the Master degree courses.

For B.Tech. programs, it is compulsory to have appeared and qualified “Common Entrance Test” MHT CET
The university will announce a merit list once the admission procedure is completed and the students will be called for counselling.
The mode of filling up the application form is offline.
The application fee for the MHT CET is INR 1600 (INR 1200 for SC, ST, VJ/DT- NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC & PwD candidates from Maharashtra only).
The fee payment for the MHT CET can be done through various online modes such as Credit Card/ Debit Card
It is important for the applicant to retain a hard copy of the application form.
The medium of MHT CET is English or Marathi or Urdu for subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology but the Mathematics examination part is strictly in English medium only

RGIT Mumbai UG Admission 2022

RGIT offers BE courses in five disciplines of Engineering and Technology at graduate level. The admission procedure for UG courses is merit based where the selection is done on the basis of MHT-CET scores. All the undergraduate courses are of 4 years.

To be eligible for admissions to the B.Tech programs, applicants must have completed senior secondary school from a reputed school.
Candidates who clear the written examination are called upon for the counselling process.

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT) Mumbai PG Admission 2022

The RGIT offers four courses at the postgraduate level in diverse branches of engineering and technology, management studies and computer applications. It is mandatory for the candidate to hold a Bachelor’s degree as a prerequisite to be eligible for the admission procedure. Candidates seeking admission should have appeared and qualified MAH-MBA/MMS CET

The entrance exam for post graduate program consists of 3 sections – Logic / Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.
The total marks of MAH-MBA/MMS CET are 200.

M.E.	Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering

Applicants can apply online as well as offline by filling out the application form through the university website and paying the application fee through online mode. After the entrance examinations, the students who get selected in the merit list will be notified to appear for the counselling round.

To be eligible for admissions to the postgraduate programs, candidates must have completed their UG degree from a recognized university.
The duration of MAH-MBA/MMS CET is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
There is no negative marking for any incorrect answer.
The counselling will commence in June-July 2022.

RGIT Application Process 2023

Candidates must check for the eligibility and ensure that they fulfill the mentioned eligibility criteria before proceeding to fill up the application form.

The application form can be obtained online on the DTE website.

He/she must proceed and select "Click here for New Registration".
He/she must fill in the details correctly and preview it to ensure that it does not carry any inappropriate details.
The applicant must submit the form to the institution upon successfully filling in the details.
He/she must upload a recent photograph
The payment must be done online and it is non-refundable. Applicant must pay the fee by proceeding to the ‘Payment’ tab.
He/she must provide personal details along with the academic details, professional experience, address and other relevant information
After this, the form will be verified by the Competent Authority assigned in the student section.
The provisional admission is offered to candidates once they submit all the required original documents.

Notes:

Applicants must carry a photocopy of all the mentioned documents as a proof of submission
While reporting for admission to D.T.E., candidate should provide the credentials (Application ID and password) which were used while filling the application form online.
Students must remember to collect and retain the student copy of the fee challan once they report for admission to DTE online.

RGIT Reservation 2022

The university follows reservation as per the guidelines issued by the Government of India.

The college has a system of Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) seats which constitutes 70% of Total Engineering Seats
20% of Total Engineering Seats constitute Management Quota seats at institute Level.
10% of the reserved seats come under Minority Quota seats and the candidates applying for it must belong to a Hindi linguistic minority community in Maharashtra region.

Remarks:

I had an attempt for JEE and MH-CET as well. I expected to get admission on basis of my CET score. But surprisingly, it was my JEE score (65%ile) that got me in. If you belong to a reserved category. You may have to submit additional documents like income proof, caste certificate, and caste validity and they may ask you to log in to the MahaDBT website. If you fail to complete the procedure within the given time, they warn you may have to pay the full course fees. But trust me, they provide enough time for you to issue a new caste certificate/caste validity. So anyways while standing in line for admissions, students are stressed. So just make a note of every document they ask for. Also, carry with along you every document you have (on the day of admission). In case you don't have a few documents issued, the faculty will fully cooperate with you. Just make sure you carry a copy of your admission confirmation(the one which is produced after the admission rounds).
