R.M.K College of Engineering and Technology (RMKCET) is affiliated to Anna University. The college offers B.E/B.Tech program in 4 specializations.

Those students are eligible to apply who have passed 10+2 Academic or Vocational from the state of Tamil Nadu only.
Admission is granted on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination followed by TNEA (counselling process).
Final admissions are done under Government Quota (for 50% seats) through single window system conducted by Anna University and through Management Quota (for rest of the seats available).
The college offers a total of 480 seats in different specializations.
The admission to B.Tech Lateral Entry is also available in the college.

RMKCET B.E/B.Tech Admission 2023

RMKCET offers B.E/B.Tech with specializations in Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electronics Engineering. The college also provides Lateral Entry admissions in the second year of engineering in all the specializations.

50% of the admissions are done under Government Quota through single window system of counselling conducted by the Anna University. Admissions are given in the affiliated colleges based on the marks obtained in the HSC. Candidates are not required to appear for any entrance and have to enroll only for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA).

The remaining 50% of the admissions are done under management quota through single window system of counselling conducted by the Consortium of Self Financing Colleges in Tamil Nadu.
Candidates should have passed Tamil Nadu HSC (Academic) examinations with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Also, candidates having passed Tamil Nadu HSC (Vocational) are considered eligible for the admission. Candidates other than the state of Tamil Nadu will be considered as belonging to another Category (OC) while applying for B.Tech.

For Lateral Entry admission into second-year candidates should have passed Diploma examination in Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu or an equivalent examination. Candidates holding an undergraduate degree in B.Sc are also eligible to apply.

RMKCET Application Process 2023

Candidates seeking admissions under Government Quota have to fill TNEA application form while candidates applying through Management Quota have to fill the application form of the consortium.

Also, candidates are required to submit the college application form available with the prospectus in the prescribed format. The application form along with registration fee must reach the given address within the stipulated time period:

I got a seat in mechanical engineering, In my year the cut was low but now is high. it is a very wonderful college. all students in that college will respect management. the ultimate aim of the college is to place the students in a reputed company.

Velammal Engineering is the better option compared to RMK Engineering College. The institute has a good infrastructure. The departmental laboratories are well-equipped with the latest instruments and technologies. The hostel accommodation is decent.

Velammal Engineering College Chennai placements are good. The overall placement rate for the institute is around 86.47%. According to the placement highlights of recent years, the highest CTC offered for students of the institute is around INR 22 LPA.
