Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) was founded in the year 2006 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. NIET is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

The institute offers BE, ME, MBA and MBA courses at UG and PG level.

Candidates can apply online and offline for admission into any UG/ PG course offered by the college. Application form could be filled online and could be collected from the Admission Center of the college in person.
Application fee could be paid in cash or through Demand Draft.
Applicants who have completed 10+2 with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when calculated together are eligible to apply for BE admission.
Candidates who hold BE/ B.Tech degree in the concerned discipline are considered eligible to apply for ME admission.
Students who hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any AICTE approved University are eligible to get admission into MBA/ MCA program.
Admission to the candidates into BE course is given through TNEA counselling and admission in ME, MBA and MCA programs is given through TANCET.

A four-year B.E in 2 specializations is offered by Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology to the aspirants. Applicants who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board and have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply for BE admission.

Admission to the eligible candidates into any PG course is given through TANCET conducted by Anna University.

What I Liked

Faculty: Professors are well-qualified, experienced, and supportive, using modern teaching aids like smart boards
Curriculum: Updated to reflect current industry trends, particularly in fields like Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, and Electronics
Cafeteria and Sports: Adequate cafeteria services and facilities to support sports and extracurricular activities

What I didn’t like

Attendance and Rules: The institution enforces strict attendance and discipline policies, which some students might find restrictive
Extracurriculars: While there are some activities, the range of clubs and organizations is limited compared to larger institutions, potentially limiting opportunities for cultural and creative expression
Accessibility: The campus is located in Thirumalayampalayam, a bit away from the main city, which may pose challenges for students preferring an urban setting

Remarks:

Balanced Academics and Infrastructure:NIET: The college offers a strong blend of academic rigor with a focus on industry-relevant courses, particularly in Electronics and Communication Engineering, which was my field of interest. The curriculum is designed to be comprehensive and up-to-date, including hands-on projects and internships, which are essential for practical learning [?].Other Colleges: While PSG and Kumaraguru are highly reputable, their admission process was highly competitive. Sri Krishna College offered good academics but lacked the specialized focus and newer lab facilities that NIET had.
