Kongu Engineering College Undergraduate Admission 2023

Kongu Engineering College offers admission to 11 different specializations under B.E./ B.Tech courses. The total intake of candidates in B.E. is 240 and B.Tech is 120 seats. The minimum eligibility criterion to apply for these courses requires the candidates to have passed 10+2 with 50% marks in PCM/ Computer Science/ Biology/ Biotechnology. The candidates are selected on a merit basis or through TNEA.

The candidates applying under the OBC category are given a relaxation 5% to the total aggregate score of qualifying exam, while the SC/ ST/ MBC/ DNC candidates enjoy a relaxation of up to 10%.
Candidates with 8th to 12th standard study from Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply for TNEA without a residential/ native certificate.
The minimum age to apply for B.E./ B.Tech is 17 years.

ENTRANCE PREVIEW -Counselling, mark based, from +2 , Anna University will conduct counseling for admission to UG engineering programmes at participating universities tentatively in the last week of June. Admission to engineering programmes will be based on marks obtained by candidates in PCM in the qualifying examination.

Kongu Engineering College Postgraduate Admission 2023

The College offers several PG courses viz. M.E./ M.Tech, MBA and MCA under different disciplines. The basic criterion to apply for admission in any of these PG Programs is to obtain a bachelor’s degree in relevant field with minimum 50% marks from any recognized institution or University. For MCA, Mathematics should be a compulsory subject either at 10+2 or graduation level.

The final selection of the candidates in M.E./ M.Tech is based on GATE/ TANCET while for MBA and MCA, it is MAT/ TANCET respectively, followed by Group discussion and interview session.

Kongu Engineering college an overview

Remarks:

I applied through Tamilnadu engineering counseling conducted by the state government for a seat in private colleges. As my cut-off is 162.5 I got a seat at kongu Engineering college. The fee for counseling students is 100000 per year excluding book fees. Sports quota is also available there if you are a sports person. If someone got selected they will be provided free hostel facilities and the greatest concessions will be given in tuition fees. There is a trust called kongu Vellalar trust which helps people who completed their schooling in govt schools in Tamil medium availed special scholarships. There will be minimal fees to be paid. My college also provides government scholarships based on castes like bc, bc, and separate scholarships are given to sc st students by the government of Tamilnadu. You can also apply for central government posts merit scholarships. The admission is purely based on your score, if your score is high possibility of getting a seat is high in counseling.

The eligibility criteria are different in all the private colleges according to their rules and norms. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) doesn't cater to the open education system and it seems that it doesn't have value but that's not true. Although, in general terms, to get admission to Kongu Engineering College, Erode, you should have at least 50% aggregate in your 12th standard with the subject as physics, chemistry, and maths as the main subjects. At least 45% marks if you fall under the reserved categories (ST, SC, OBC, etc.).

They include: BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) - It is the soul of the internet at the campus of Kongu Engineering College as they are the service providers for the internet. Airtel - With the good signal and speed, the second most used network of Kongu Engineering College is Airtel. Jio - When we talk about bandwidth, Jio has earned a point here as it has better bandwidth than the other networks. Aircel - It is the last network that is hardly available on the campus of Kongu Engineering College as the college itself is situated in a remote area. It has a lower bandwidth and a poor network. These were the four networks available on the Kongu Engineering College's campus. A person can choose any of the above-mentioned networks but don't opt for Aircel as it has a very poor network and is not beneficial. Rest BSNL, Airtel, and Jio three are all decent options.

In MEPCO there are times when students have to abide by certain petty rules and regulations, like using mobiles, being unable to attend symposiums, etc. In Kongu, you have the freedom to learn new things. You can learn about both software, the ones in your curriculum and not. All the professors are knowledgeable and highly experienced. They are extremely cooperative as well. Both the colleges are equally good. Though it can be compared on the basis of the following factors: Location: Kongu College is in Erode and Krishna College is in Coimbatore. So, location matters a lot while choosing a college. In this case, the former is better. Strength: Krishna College has low student strength and fewer departments compared to Kongu College. During placement, you get fewer competitors. Staff: Kongu College has better and experienced staff members than Krishna college. The staff of Krishna college though freshers are known to be very cooperative. Lab Facilities: Kongu College offers better lab facilities compared to Krishna College. College Fee: Krishna College is a bit costlier than Kongu. Krishna College doesn't have any scholarship scheme for toppers, unlike Kongu. Hostel: In Krishna, you have to pay nearly 85,000 for a hostel. But In Kongu it is 55,000 to 60,000. But when quality and facilities are considered Krishna definitely wins.
