Dumkal Institute of Engineering & Technology (DIET) was established in the year 2001. The college is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal and is located in Dumkal, Murshidabad.
Dumkal Institute of Engineering & Technology offers BE and BE (Lateral Entry) in seven specializations.
- For BE, candidates should have completed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects with minimum 45% marks from a board or university approved by the government of India.
- Admission to BE is done on the basis of WBJEE or JEE Main score.
- Candidates with Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. degree with Mathematics as one of the combination subject at graduation level are eligible to apply for BE (Lateral Entry).
- Admission to BE Lateral Entry is done on the basis of JELET score.
- Admission to all the programs is done on the basis of counselling conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board.
- In BE program, 80% of the seats are filled by JEM- E & T qualified candidates, whereas 10% of the seats are filled by JEE Main candidates.
- The remaining 10% of the seats are filled through Management Quota.
