Earlier known as Jagannath Mishra of Technology (JMIT), Darbhanga College of Engineering is academically governed by Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna. It is recognized by A.I.C.T.E, New Delhi, and the government of Bihar.

Darbhanga College of Engineering offers a full-time B.Tech program for a duration of 4 years. DCE admits B. Tech. students based on their performance in JEE Mains.

The college has four Engineering branches – Civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics, and computer science. It also includes 12‘Lateral entry’seats for all trades, especially for diploma holders.

Besides the successful BCECEB candidates, a specified number of NRI students selected under the policy laid down by the Government of India may be admitted directly to the 1st year of any of the courses covered by these regulations. There is no provision of Inter-College transfer of students from various Engineering colleges of Bihar.

Eligibility

The student must pass 12th class from the science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics should be one of the main subjects in the same class.

The students need to score a minimum aggregate of at least 50% in class 12th to get admission in B. Tech. courses. However, there can be a relaxation of 5% for students coming from SC/ST background.

Age limit: Applicant should be between the age of 17 years to 23 years.

Selection Process

Admission for the B.Tech program are granted on the basis JEE Mains is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Students can also seek admission via BCECE.

For Diploma holders, a special exam named ‘Lateral entry’ is conducted between April to July of every year, which enables the students to take direct admission in 2nd year. There are 12 Lateral entry seats.

How to Apply Darbhaga College of Engineering?

The selection to Bihar colleges for B.Tech is usually done through Bihar combined entrance competitive examination (BCECE), organized by the Bihar combined entrance competitive examination board.

The application for the exam has to be filled online by visiting https://bceceboard.bihar.gov.in/. FOr filling the application form correctly candidates can follow the steps given below:

Note: The application fees for the general category (subject PCB/PCM/CBA) is INR 1,000, for general category (subject PCMB) is INR 1,100 and for SC/ST categories application fees is INR 550.
