Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology or AVIT came into existence in the year 1998 under the affiliation of Anna University. In 2004, the institution attained the status of University under Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation or VMRF.
AVIT is approved by AICTE and Council of Architecture (COA), Govt. Of India for conducting degree courses at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels. For undergraduates, AVIT hosts full time as well as part-time B.E/B.Tech. There are 10 specializations for B.E and 1 for B.Tech. degree. Admissions are made on the basis of marks obtained at 10+2 level only.
For Graduates, the academy has 5 specializations in M.E and 1 specialization for the M.Tech. the course along with an MBA program for graduates.
For PG programs, marks obtained in graduation stream is the deciding factor for admissions. Options for lateral entry is also available for B.E programs.
AVIT provides an array of Ph.D. doctoral-level programs in 5 domains, admissions to which are made on the basis of merit in post-graduation.
An active training and placement cell ensures that pre-final year students are place in reputed firms including Infosys, Sathyam, Wipro, Robert Bosh, etc. The cell regularly organizes HR meet, job fairs and placement day to provide opportunities for placement and internships.
