Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology or AVIT came into existence in the year 1998 under the affiliation of Anna University. In 2004, the institution attained the status of University under Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation or VMRF.

AVIT is approved by AICTE and Council of Architecture (COA), Govt. Of India for conducting degree courses at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels. For undergraduates, AVIT hosts full time as well as part-time B.E/B.Tech. There are 10 specializations for B.E and 1 for B.Tech. degree. Admissions are made on the basis of marks obtained at 10+2 level only.

For Graduates, the academy has 5 specializations in M.E and 1 specialization for the M.Tech. the course along with an MBA program for graduates.

For PG programs, marks obtained in graduation stream is the deciding factor for admissions. Options for lateral entry is also available for B.E programs.

AVIT provides an array of Ph.D. doctoral-level programs in 5 domains, admissions to which are made on the basis of merit in post-graduation.

Admission to the above-mentioned M.E./M.Tech. programs is done on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying Examinations (Relevant Degree or its equivalent) as per the Apex Council Norms and the merit-based counseling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF (DU), Salem.

AVIT offers 3 years full time post-graduate-level program in Ph.D. under different subjects of specialisations. The programme is conducted on campus and is approved by AICTE. The specialisations in Ph.D include the following:

How to Apply for AVIT Tamil Nadu 2022

Candidates are required to apply offline for different PG courses available at AVIT. Steps for offline application is listed below:

Download the admission form for the academic year either from the official website of AVIT or in person from the admission cell at the campus
Read out the instructions properly and fill out the required information
Submit the duly filled application form along with required documents at the Admission cell of the campus

Ques. Is there a facility for accommodation for outstation candidates?

Ans. AVIT offers different hostels for boys as well as girls with a capacity of 1000 and 400 each. Facilities for games and recreation are also provided in the hostel along with mess serving north Indian and south Indian delicacies. Gyms are provided by both hostels.

Ques. Does it offer a transportation facility?

Ans. Yes, AVIT runs its own fleet of buses for students who wish to come from nearby localities. The buses connect different parts of the cities and operate from the Chennai and suburban areas of Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Thirukalukundram, and Kalpakkam.

Ques. Is the campus Wi-Fi enabled?

Ans. Yes, the campus is connected by a high-speed Wi-Fi facility with dedicated internet leased line accessible from anywhere on the college premises. It offers 200 Mbps premium internet bandwidth with 1:1 connectivity.

Ques. Which subjects are available for lateral entry admission and what is the fee for the same?

Ans. Students can go for lateral entry admission in B.E/B.Tech courses in subjects including automobile engineering, biotechnology, biomedical, civil, computer science, electronics and communications, electrical and electronics, mechanical and mechatronics engineering.
