National Institute of Nursing Education is located in Chandigarh and was set up in the year 1960. The institute is a centre of excellence which endeavours to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempts to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. The specialists that are trained by the institute are spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions. The institute offers graduate and post graduate level degree courses in the field of nursing. The National Institute of Nursing Education was established with the objective to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health. It has attained self-sufficiency in postgraduate medical education and meets the country’s need for highly qualified medical teachers in all medical and surgical disciplines.
