Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar offers B.Sc. degree and B.Sc. Lateral degree course in Nursing at the undergraduate level. Admission to the B.Sc. in Nursing course at ACN is exclusively open for the female dependant wards of serving/retired army personnel including the war widows. The dependants of the following category of army personnel are eligible:
- Serving or Retired Army Personnel in receipt of regular pension/liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board or ex-Army personnel are who have taken discharge/release after ten years of service.
- Army personnel killed in action or those who died during their service or disabled in action in Army
- Dependants on the AMC/ADC officers presently serving with Navy or Air Force who have served Army for 10 years.
- Adopted female wards of Army personnel provided they have been adopted at least five years before admission.
- Dependent daughters of widows of Army personnel who are born as a result of second marriage with Army personnel. However, children of widows of Army personnel born out of remarriage with Non-Army personnel would not be eligible for admission.
- Stepdaughter of Army personnel who was born out of the wedlock where at least one parent belonged to Army.
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have passed Class XII or equivalent exam from a recognized board with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and English and obtained 45% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates who are in the first year of their 3 year degree course in Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in three subjects from a recognized university.
Age Criteria:
- Daughters: Candidates should not be below 17 years of age or above 25 years of age on December 31 of the year of admission.
- Veer Naris/Wives of service/Retired Army Pers.: Candidates should not be below 17 years of age or above 35 years of age on December 31 of the year of admission.
All the seats at ACN Jalandhar will be filled on the basis of candidates’ performance in Combined Written Admission Test (CWAT). A merit list is prepared based on candidates scores in CWAT by the Admission Committee of the college. Candidates who clear the cut-off score set by the committee will be called for the admission process.
