Important Updates for GMC

NEET UG 2024 will be held on May 5, 2024 for admission to MBBS at GMC Amritsar. NEET PG 2024 will be held on March 3, 2024 for admission to MD/ MS/ PG Diploma at GMC Amritsar.

Started off as a medical school in Lahore in 1864, the Government Medical College was later relocated to Amritsar and has since developed a stellar reputation for itself. Affiliated to the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, it is also attached to a renowned hospital which further enhances the quality of programs offered.

Selection of candidates to the institute is done on the basis of merit.
The performance in the entrance examination is the deciding factor, with slight weightage given to past academic performance.

Government Medical College, Amritsar offers admission to MBBS course on the basis of performance in the relevant entrance examination. The exam may be the Punjab Medical Entrance Test, conducted by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Faridkot or the All India Medical Entrance Examination (CBSE Examination) conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi.

The admission process consists of admission counselling for candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Government Medical College entrance examination.
