Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science stream.
IISER Mohali BS-MS Selection Criteria
Candidates shall be selected through the following channels. Marks obtained in 10+2 boards shall also be considered.
- Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
- Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
- State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)
Indian nationals and students belonging to PIO or OCI category satisfying the eligibility criteria are eligible to apply
KVPY Channel- KVPY scholars are automatically admitted to the BS-MS program. Those having KVPY fellowship commencing from 2020-21 can apply for admissions.
JEE Advanced Channel- General Category Candidates who secure a rank within 10000 in the common rank list (CRL) shall be eligible. Reserved Category Candidates (OBC-NC, SC, ST, PD) should have a category rank within 10000.
SCB Channel- Students who apply through this channel must appear in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). Students who pass 10+2 examination with science stream will be eligible for IAT.
A merit list shall be prepared based on the results based on which the seat allocation shall be done.
How to Apply to IISER BS-MS?
- The candidates need to click on Apply Online at IISER admissions website.
- On the registration page, they need to enter their basic personal details and generate OTP. After entering the OTP, the candidates need to enter Captcha displayed and submit it. Then, the application number/ User ID and password will be sent on the mobile number and email address.
- The candidates can then log in again by using the sent credentials.
- The next step is to fill personal details, qualification details, and document upload which are split as three tabs on the application page.
- After filling in all the required personal and qualification details and uploading the scanned copy of the needed documents along with the photograph and signature, the candidate needs to enter the captcha text and click on the checkbox to confirm the declaration.
- Next, click on “Click here to fill the Application” option to go to the application form for the SCB Channel. An application number will be generated. The same application number user id can be used for KVPY and JEE (advanced). A new id will be generated accordingly.
- Next, the candidate must fill the city preferences for the test center of IAT and select the IISERs in decreasing order of preference.
- By clicking on the submit button the candidate shall be directed to the payment gateway. General/EWS/OBC/OBC-NCL/KM candidates will have to pay Rs.2000 + transaction fee, if any, as application fee. SC/ST/PD candidates need to pay only Rs.1000 + transaction fee if any. Foreign national applying through JEE will have to pay US Dollar 100 + transaction fee, if any, as application fee. Do not press refresh or back buttons on the payment page. Keep the transaction id of your payment noted down for future reference.
