Aspirants seeking admission to 5-year Full-time BALLB Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.
Academic Requirement:
- Candidate should have passed the higher secondary (10+2) examination held by the West Bengal Council from this university or any other university.
- Candidate should have obtained at least 55% of aggregate marks in qualifying examinations and 50% marks (in case of SC/ST category candidates).
Entrance Exam:
- Admission is based on the Merit of the qualifying exam.
Age Limit:
- Candidate’s Age should not be more than 20 years in case of general category candidates and 22 years in case of SC/ST category candidates.

Jalpaiguri Law College BA LLB Eligibility Criteria
BA LLB:
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination from a recognised board.
- For B.A. L.L.B. candidates should have obtained 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in the qualifying examinations (Total marks of best of five subjects excluding EVS including English should be taken into account to calculate the percentage of marks).
- SC & ST category and aspiring to pursue B.A. L.L.B. are eligible to apply if they have secured at least 40% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examinations.
BA LLB (Hons):
- For candidates aspiring to pursue B.A. L.L.B. (Hons.) should have obtained 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in the qualifying examinations (Total marks of best of five subjects excluding EVS including English should be taken into account to calculate the percentage of marks).
- For candidates belonging to SC & ST category and aspiring to pursue B.A. L.L.B. (Hons.) are eligible to apply if they have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examinations.
- The candidate shall not be above 20 years of age on the date of admission.
- Two years age relaxation is available for SC/ST candidates.

- The selection of the candidates for admission to BA LLB and BA LLB(Hons.) undergraduate programmes will be made on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in the 10+2 examination.
