Government Law College (GLC) is one of the oldest law colleges of the State of Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU), Chennai. The college offers admissions into three-year course of B.L., five-year course of BA B.L. and two-year course of M.L. with specialisation in Property Law.

The admission procedure for BA BL and BL in Government Law College shall be the same to be conducted by TNDALU.
The selection of candidates is done as per academic merit of last qualifying examination and rules of reservation of Government of Tamil Nadu.
To be eligible for BA BL, candidates must have passed in 10+2 or an equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks.
For admission to BL, candidates must have completed three-year Bachelor’s degree in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern from Universities of Tamil Nadu.
All eligible candidates shall be allotted seats on a merit-cum-choice basis.
Admission seekers applying for the course in ML need to have BA BL or BL degree with minimum 50% marks in each year of the course.
Applications shall be invited by TNDALU in offline mode and can be obtained personally or by post from the Registrar Office of the University or from the college itself.
Admission to the BA BL and BL is done on the basis of academic merit through counselling.
The candidates shall remit application fee through remittance challan in any branch of Indian Bank.
The selection shall be affected on merit basis as per the reservation policy of the State of Tamil Nadu.

Government Law College Madurai BL and BA BL Admission 2023

The College offers admission to courses in BA BL and BL having duration of five-year and three-year, respectively. For BA BL, candidate must pass 10+2 examination with minimum 45% marks. Minimum eligibility for BL is three-year Bachelor’s degree in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern from Universities of Tamil Nadu.

The admission to the courses shall be affected on the basis of marks secured in last qualifying examination as per reservation policy of the State. The allotment of seats shall be done in the order of merit and counselling conducted by the University.

Key Points:

There is no age limit to apply to these courses.
Candidates who are awaiting final year results shall apply as well.
Those applying for BA BL course must compulsorily complete their education under 10+2+3 pattern.

Government Law College Madurai ML Admission 2023

At post graduate level, the college offers course in Masters in Law with specialisation in Property Law. Those candidates who have passed their BA BL and BL courses shall be eligible to apply. The minimum eligibility for ML is BA BL or BL with minimum 50% marks.

The selection of candidates is solely based on merit and there shall be no entrance exam.

Key Points:

Admission shall be conducted by TNDALU and norms established by the University.
In case of tie two candidates having equal marks, the elder one will be given preference for admission.

Government Law College Madurai Application Process 2023

Application to the college can be made through application forms issued by TNDALU in offline mode only. For each course separate forms have to be filled-up. The application forms can be had in any of the following ways:

Candidates seeking application by post must send an requisition letter mentioning the course they are seeking admission into along with requisite fee to the address mentioned below.
Also, candidates may obtain the application form personally from the Principal of the college by paying the requisite fee in cash.
The application processing fee shall be paid through remittance Challan in any branch of Indian Bank.
The challan should be downloaded from the University or obtained from the college itself.
The cost of application form for SC/ST candidates is INR 250 (in person) and INR 350 (by post).
For other candidates, the application cost shall be INR 500 (in person) and INR 600 (by post).
SC/ST category candidates must submit an attested photocopy of Community Certificate along with remittance Challan to avail concession on application processing fee.
