Important Updates for BIT Jaipur

Birla Institute of Technology Extension campus, Jaipur Admissions 2023 are ongoing currently. The off campus spot round admissions to BTech programs 2022 based on JEE Main 2022 scores will be conducted on November 29, 2022. The applications for the same are currently open and the last date to apply for the same is November 29, 2022. Interested candidates may visit bitmesra.ac.in to apply for the same.

Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Jaipur was established in 1995, and is affiliated to BIT Ranchi. It is approved by AICTE and UGC. BIT Jaipur offers admission in B.E, B.Sc., BBA, BCA, MBA, MCA, M.Sc. and Ph.D. admissions are both entrance and merit-based. Applications are accepted online.

Admissions to the B.E program are through Joint Seat Allotment Authority (JoSAA). The students are eligible to apply only if they pass 10+2 with PCM with 45% aggregate and have qualified JEE Main exam.

For BBA and BCA admissions students should have passed 10+2 with 50%. Admission is offered on the basis of merit.

MBA admissions are given to those students who qualify for either CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT entrance. The students are also required to score at least 50% in a bachelor’s degree in any field.

To be eligible for MCA admissions, students must qualify for MCA Online entrance along with 55% in B.Sc. degree with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Students can also have a bachelor's degree in Arts. Ph.D. admissions are based on an internal entrance exam and m=scores in master’s degrees.

Placements for 2017-18 were offered to 56 students from 23 companies. The highest package offered was INR 23 LPA while the average package was INR 6.47 LPA.

Admission to undergraduate programs is both entrance and merit-based followed by MAKAUT Counselling. Students must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria in order to get selected for admission.

Admission Process

JoSAA

Admission to B.Tech programs is offered through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). Students who have appeared for either JEE Mains or JEE Advanced must keep the following points in mind while registering:

Students having qualified JEE Mains are eligible to apply for seat allotment to NITs only.
While JEE Advanced qualified candidates can apply to all participating institutions.
Applicants can fill as many options while registering in the decreasing order.
In order to be considered for admission according to the given options, students must not forget to lock their choices. Once locked no changes can be made.
In total, there are 7 rounds for seat allocation where all institutions participate who are a part of it.
Finally, an acceptance fee must be paid for accepting the seat provisionally.
Students must appear at the nearest JoSAA center for document verification.

JEE Main Entrance

The application fee for taking this exam varies with the type of candidature. The application fee for the general category is INR 325. The following section throws light on the requirements and the process of registration for JEE Mains.

Documents Required

Scanned and recent photograph coloured or black/white (but clear contrast) JPG/JPEG format. Size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
Scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format. Size should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
Application forms with unclear photographs will be rejected.

How to Register?

Visit the official website of JEE Main and click on “Fill Online Application Form”.
Register by giving your personal details, to generate a user id and password.
The application number will be generated after submitting the details for registration.
The form requires personal details, address, and mobile number.
You can set your security question and password to access the application for the future.
Submit the application form by logging in with the same user id and password that you had set.

For admission to NIT, IIIT and GFTI institutions students must carry the following documents for admissions:

3 passport sized photographs uploaded for JEE Main entrance.
Class XII performance check.
Provisional seat allotment letter.
Undertaking by the candidate.

Admission Process

For MBA/MCA admissions, students can follow the application submission process:

click on the link “Click here to apply online” to register for the programme and create a password.
Eligible candidates must complete and submit the application form online.
Pay non-refundable application fee of INR 2,500 (General/OBC candidates) and INR 1,500 (SC/ST candidates) through net banking/debit card/credit card..
The candidates may select a choice of maximum of three campuses, in order of preference from the prompt. No changes will be permitted later.
Candidates should fill the Online Application Form only after they satisfy all the eligibility criteria.
After submission, take printout as it will be required to be carried during GD & PI.

BIT Mesra Jaipur campus is one of the seven extension campuses (Jaipur, Deoghar, Patna, Lalpur, Noida, Muscat, and Ras Al Khaimah) and one polytechnic school managed by the BIT Mesra deemed university. Now it will be unfair to compare an extension campus to the main campus of any university as the overall quality of the extension campus always tends to be less than the main campus. Keeping in line with that, the Jaipur campus of BIT Mesra has a smaller campus area than BIT Mesra’s main campus. The professors are also average and the facilities provided by the campus are also lesser compared to the main campus. One plus point is that some of the toppers and few meritorious students are called to the main campus for the final placements. The placements at the main campus are good with an average CTC of 11.76 LPA and the highest CTC of 49.76 LPA. Now, the Jaipur campus of BIT Mesra is worth joining if you are looking for a brand name and a college with average output (this campus is still in the development phase). However, do not expect the level of quality offered at BIT Mesra. You may even consider joining some better-ranked and better-equipped state-level colleges in the vicinity.

LNCT Bhopal is a better option. When appearing for the placement interview from BIT Jaipur, you will have to compete with students in a large number as pooled placement takes place and students from all the BIT are allowed to appear for that. While LNCT offers good placements. According to the recent highlights, the average CTC offered is 3-8 LPA. In 2020 Microsoft offered the highest CTC of 27 LPA. On the other hand, if you are comparing BITS Pilani and LNCT Bhopal then without any second thoughts, Pilani is the answer. In order to get admission there, you should be able to crack their entrance exam (BITSAT) and it takes great effort.

It’s difficult to determine which institute is better as the courses are not mentioned for the given college. However, given below are information about the colleges which may help you make the decision. Admissions: BIT Jaipur: If a student wants to take admission to the college they need to secure at least 45% in class 10+2 exams with PCM. For the B.E program the admissions are by Joint Seat Allotment Authority (JOSAA). Nirma University: The criteria for every course is different. But mostly the university accepts common exams like JEE Mains, CLAT, GATE, CAT, and MAT. Apart from that the college also does take admissions through merits. UIET Chandigarh: The admissions of the course B.E and M.E is done on the basis of entrance exams. However, the minimum criteria for an applicant to apply for admissions is to pass class 10+2 exams with at least 45% of marks in PCM. Faculty: BIT Jaipur: Most of the faculty are Ph.D. while others are pursuing. The classes are never boring because of the interactive sessions held by the faculty. Nirma University: As being one of the oldest colleges in the state, the faculty of the college is well experienced and well versed with the subjects that they teach. UIET Chandigarh: There are a total of 8 core members in the college out of which three of them are Ph.D. holders. Placement: BIT Jaipur: There were a total of 23 companies present. The highest package that was offered was INR 23 LPA while the average package was INR 6.47 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, Info Objects, and Reliance Jio. You should do IT at BIT Mesra. It has an active coding culture. You will get support from your seniors and can learn to code through clubs and committees. BIT Mesra placements are good for IT. Major software companies take part in campus placements. The average salary package offered for IT is around INR 12 LPA.
