NEET UG 2024 will be held on May 5, 2024 for admission to BDS at Manipal College of Dental Sciences. NEET MDS 2024 is scheduled to be held on February 9, 2024 for admission to MDS at Manipal College of Dental Sciences.


Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS) was established in 1968 and is located in Mangalore. MCODS is one of the constituent colleges of Manipal Academy for Higher Education (MAHE).

Dental Council of India recognized Manipal College of Dental Sciences in 1991. Thus, following the guidelines set by the council for admissions to various programs of Dentistry. Also, MCODS follows the ISO 9001:2015 standards for imparting quality healthcare education.

MCODS is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade and follows a comprehensive and competency based curriculum in all its programs. Different programs like BDS, MDS, PG Certificate, PG Diploma & Certificate are offered for admissions.

Admission applications are accepted through the official website of MCODS with an application fee of INR 600. Entrance applications are also available online.

To be eligible for BDS admissions, students must have passed 10+2 with PCB and English. Students are also required to qualify for NEET UG entrance exam. 

Students willing to take admission in MDS or PG Certificate programs, must have qualified BDS program and also qualify for NEET PG entrance exam.

Seat allotment and counselling for BDS, MDS and PG Certificate programs is through DSHC or MCC.

Admission eligibility for PG Diploma and various certificate programs are based on scores in previous qualifying degree programs like BDS/MBBS/B.Sc. in Biological Sciences. Seat allotment is based upon merit list. 

Post graduation more than 50% of the students qualify for the state postgraduate entrance. There are student exchange programs as well as MCODS has signed MoU’s with US universities.

Eligibility Criteria

How to Apply for Manipal College of Dental Sciences?

Students can follow the given steps for application submission at MCODS 

Step 1- Registration & Choice Filling: 

  • Candidates can log on to https://mcc.nic.in to complete the registration process and fill in the choice of course.   

Step 2- Online counseling & Seat Allotment: 

  • This is taken care of by DGHS / MCC based on entrance scores and scores in the previous examination.  

Step 3- Reporting to the Institute: 

  • After the merit list is released, students can go to their respective institutions to complete the necessary admission formalities.

NEET Exam

This exam is conducted by NTA for those students who wish to get admission in medical programs. 

  • The exam is conducted offline or pen and paper mode.
  • Questions are multiple choice questions (MCQ’s) where one out of four options is correct.
  • NEET exam is 3 hours long and carries questions in:
    • Physics: 45 questions
    • Chemistry: 45 questions
    • Biology: 90 questions (Zoology: 45 questions; Botany: 45 questions)
  • Each question carries 4 marks for each correct answer.
  • 1 mark is deducted per wrong answer. But no mark is deducted for unattempted questions.  

NEET Cut-Off 2021

Scores based on 2019 cut-offs suggest that candidates would have to score in and around the following marks to be eligible for the upcoming UG admission session:

  • NEET Admit Card, Scorecard or Rank Letter
  • Class X certificate and mark sheet (for date of birth)
  • Class XII certificate and mark sheet
  • ID proof (Aadhar/PAN Card/Driving License/Passport)
  • Eight passport size photographs
  • Provisional Allotment Letter
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD Certificate (if applicable)

For PG Admissions:

  • MBBS Certificate.
  • MBBS 3rd Part II mark sheet.
  • Medical Registration Certificate.
  • Internship Completion Certificate.
  • Photo identity proof in the form of Certificate with an attested photo from the Head of Institution last studied/Copy of Passport/Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Driving License (Self-attested photocopy after verifying with the original documents).
  • Copy of: Birth Certificate for proof of age (if the date of birth not given in the HSC mark sheet/ certificate).
  • NEET Score Card.
  • Copy of Online Counselling Registration Certificate of West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC).
  • Sponsorship Certificate from State Govt. If applicable.
  • Passport size Photographs 8 copies.

Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Mangalore has been ranked at number 6 for Dental by NIRF in 2019 and offers three popular courses in BDS, MDS, and PG Diploma. MCODS, Manipal on the other hand has been ranked at number 5 for Dental by NIRF in 2020 and offers popular programs in BDS and MDS.

  • Admission to both institutions is done on the basis of rank secured in NEET UG/ NEET MDS.

  • One must have secured 50% marks in 12th with PCB and English as a compulsory subject.

  • The total seats available for BDS at both campuses are 100.

  • The fee structure at both campuses is also the same i.e. 26.40 Lakhs.

MCODS Mangalore:
