Xavier Institute of Communication (XIC) conducts XIC OET for admission to all courses. XIC OET 2023 will began its registration process from the first week of April 2023.


The Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai was established in the year 1969 as an autonomous unit. XIC is a renowned name in the media industry and is said to be placed amongst the biggest non – government media centers in Asia. It offers a variety of the courses through practical, training, classroom teaching, guest lectures, etc.

XIC, Mumbai offers PG Diploma in Journalism & Mass Communication, Public Relation, and Corporate Communication, Advanced Integrated Communication, Communication for Development, Mass Communication Marathi, Advertising & Marketing Communication and Film, Television & Digital Video Production.

In addition to PG Diploma courses, XIC, Mumbai also offers certification programs in seven major disciplines. The admission to the programs offered is through Online Entrance Test conducted on various centres followed by the personal interview via SKYPE.  

  • Candidates applying in PG Diploma in Advanced Integrated Communication Program must have passed graduation along with two years of work experience.
  • Basic eligibility to apply for PG Diploma courses is having cleared graduation in Arts, Mass Media or Science.
  • However, any graduate or Master’s Degree holder can apply for certification courses.  
  • To apply for the PG Diploma & Certification courses, candidates will have to register online.
  • The eligibility of the candidates will be counted based on the qualifying exam as well as online entrance exam and personal interview.
  • Candidates studying in the last year of bachelor’s examination are also eligible to apply for the PG Diploma program.
  • Applicant must not be more than 35 years of age.

Xavier Institute of Communication (XIC), Mumbai – PG Diploma Admission 2023

Admission in PG Diploma programs is offered by Xavier Institute of Communication (XIC), Mumbai in seven major specializations. PG Diploma is offered in Journalism & Mass Communication, Public Relation and Corporate Communication, Advanced Integrated Communication, Communication for Development, Mass Communication Marathi, Advertising & Marketing Communication and Film, Television & Digital Video Production.

XIC, Mumbai also offers admission to part-time certification programs in Media/ Human Relation Skills, Radio Jockey, Photography, Public Speaking and Personality Enhancement, Creative Writing, Announcing, Broadcasting, Compering, Dubbing and E-Book Narration, and Computer Graphics & Print Design.

The minimum eligibility to apply for PG Diploma programs is having passed bachelor’s from a recognized university in any discipline, while any graduate or master’s degree holder may apply for certification courses. Eligible candidates will have to register themselves online at the official website and applicants will have to appear in an online entrance test.

PG Diploma Journalism & Mass Communication Graduation in any stream from a recognized board or any other professional course. Selection will be based on online entrance test followed by the personal interview conducted by the institute.
Public Relation and Corporate Communication Pass in Graduation in Arts, Mass Media, Science or Commerce.
Advanced Integrated Communication Experience of at least 2 years in non-staff function along with the Graduation Degree
Communication for Development Any Graduate in Arts, Commerce, Science or Mass Media.
Advertising & Marketing Communication Anyone holding Under-graduation degree is eligible to apply.
Film, Television & Digital Video Production Graduation in any discipline.
PG Diploma Mass Communication Marathi Any graduate may apply. Based on written test and personal interview.
Certificate Courses Media/ Human Relation Skills Anyone holding Graduation or Master’s Degree is eligible to apply for the certification course. Based on OET (Online Entrance Test) followed by personal interview.

Key points:

  • The registration fee for Mass Communication Marathi is Rs. 250/-.
  • Candidates studying in the last year of bachelor’s examination are also eligible to apply for the program.
  • Applicant should have an age not be more than 35 years in the year of applying.
  • Candidates applying for Advanced Integrated Communication program should have an experience of at least 2 years along with graduation degree.
  • PG Diploma and Certificate programs are module based programs conducted on the weekdays or weekends. 75% attendance in each module is necessary to be eligible for certification.
  • Applicants to Advanced Integrated Communication Program need to submit an agreement letter from the employer.

OET (Online Entrance Test)

  • The online entrance test process will be of 90 minutes of total duration carrying 150 marks.
  • The test will be conducted in the centre of candidate’s choice.
  • After the completion of online entrance test, applicants will have to appear in the personal interview through SKYPE.
  • The personal interview will be conducted on the same day of OET, at the entrance exam centre.  
  • OET will consist of objective and subjective sections.
  • The objective section will carry 100 marks. It is for a duration of 60 minutes. It will consist of the questions based on Language Skills, General Knowledge and Knowledge of Media, Logical and Analytical skills.
  • The subjective section will carry 50 marks. It is for a duration of 30 minutes. This section will consist of the questions related to media just to assess creativity, social values, writing skills, etc. Some questions will also be related to the course you are applying for.

Xavier Institute of Communication (XIC), Mumbai - Application Process 2023

Students applying for PG Diploma program offered by the Xavier Institute of Communication – (XIC) must register themselves through the online mode. However, to be eligible candidates will have to appear in OET entrance exam followed by personal interview through Skype. The final selection of the candidates is based on merit in entrance exam as well as qualifying exam followed by counselling.

  1. Visit the official website of the institute.
  2. Login to the XIC WEBSITE under Admission 2023 and click on Register.
  3. Make sure that you have a Scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph of yourself ready for uploading.
  4. Payments can be made only via net-banking cards by using your Bank Debit or Credit Cards.
  5. The Registration fee for the OET is INR 1,500/- only (inclusive of prevailing Service Tax).
  6. Provide a short Statement of Purpose (SOP).
  7. Select the preferred Centre and Date of online entrance test.
  8. The applicant may send only two of their best work/ project to their respective Course to the email id of the Coordinator within 2 days after registration. In the "Subject" of this email, please note down the REGISTRATION NO.
  9. Proceed and complete the payment procedure and upload the scanned photography or provide proper details
  10. On completion of the Registration procedure, please note down an Application Number & save it for future reference.
  11. The admit card will be sent later on the E-mail ID mentioned in the Registration form.
  12. Take a print out of the ADMIT CARD and preserve it carefully. Only this document will be accepted in all further transactions between you and XIC.
  13. Appear in the OET and personal interview. When the results will be declared, visit the institute with necessary documents.
  14. Pay the required fee and ensure the seat in the Institute.
