The Bombay Flying Club is a historical, and renowned Private Aviation institution, located in the Indian city of Mumbai. It was established in 1928 and offers Undergraduate, Diploma, and Certification courses across disciplines like Aviation, Drone Training, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, and Avionics, etc. The institute is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation (Govt. of India) and affiliated with the University of Mumbai. BFC has a fleet of the world’s safest and latest aircraft including PIPER PA18, Cessna 152A, Cessna 172, and Cessna172R (Glass Cockpit-like Airlines aircraft cockpit)-Single Engine & Seneca (Twin Engine), along with DGCA approved Synthetic Simulator (ELITE) for single engine & multi-engine flying training. This facility in return allows it to provide seamless flying training to individuals on weekdays as well as on weekends. In addition, GOI has allotted an airfield (Godur Airport) to the college at Dhule near Nasik for its absolute use. Field Trips are arranged from time to time to educate Pilot Trainees about the real-time work environment.

To date, the college has trained thousands of aircrews and many of them are now working as Captains and Engineers for domestic & international airlines including Air India, Jet Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Spice Jet, Indigo, Paramount, and Kingfisher Airlines. The Bombay Flying Club Courses

The Bombay Flying Club offers a 3-year Bachelor of Science, a 2-year Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course followed by a 1-year Diploma, and Certifications in various specializations, details for which are given below. Apart from this, students can pursue a 1-week Drone course from the college. Lastly, there are 1-4 months duration Students Pilot’s Licence Course, Private Pilot’s Licence Course, Commercial Pilot’s Licence Course, and Private Pilot’s Licence Course are offered by BFC. 

Under SPL, knowledge of Air Regulations, Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Aircrafts, and Engines is delivered to students, whereas under PPL and CPL, they get to study Aircraft General Knowledge, Flight Performance & Planning, Human Performance & Limitations, Meteorology, Air Navigation, Operational Procedures, Principles of Flight, Radio Telephony.

All the courses are delivered either on-campus or on the Flying facility provided by DGCA to the institute, and the curriculum of each program has been developed as per DGCA guidelines only. In addition to this, the college sent students to Air India Engineering Services Ltd. and Go Air to have hands-on working experience.
