Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology – (NIIFT), located in Mohali, Punjab was established in 1995. The Mohali campus offers B.Sc course in Fashion Design and Textile Design.

At Postgraduate level the institute offers two disciplines namely Garment Manufacturing Technology and Fashion Marketing and Merchandising.

85% seats are reserved for the candidates from the Punjab State and 15% will be open to candidates on All India basis.
For both the UG and PG courses candidates can fill online application form or can obtain the form from any of NIIFT centers.
Candidates applying for UG course must have passed HSC and applicants of M.Sc course must have done graduation in the relevant discipline.
Selection to B.Design course is on the basis of entrance exam followed by a situation test and interview.
Admission to M.Sc course is on the basis of entrance exam and shortlisted candidates are called for interview.

NIIFT, Mohali UG Courses Admission 2023

NIIFT, Mohali offers B.Design course in 2 disciplines at UG level.

Applicant must have passed HSC or equivalent exam from a recognized board. Candidates having 3 or 4 - years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply.

They will have to sit for an entrance exam; shortlisted candidates will be called for situation test followed by the interview.

Final merit list will be prepared considering candidate’s performance in entrance exam, situation test and interview. The weight age of each test for determining final merit is given below:

Candidates of Punjab state who have studied at least three years or have passed class 11 and 12 from schools located in rural area will be given weight age of 5% in marks in the merit list.
Entrance test for B.Design course will be of 3 hours duration from 10 AM to 1PM.

NIIFT, Mohali PG Courses Admissions 2023

At Post graduate level NIIFT, Mohali offers 2 years M.Sc course in 2 specializations. Candidates applying must have passed B.Sc/ B.Tech/ B.E or B.A/ B.Com/ BBA/ BCA from a recognized institute.

An entrance exam is conducted to shortlist the candidates for the interview. Final selection to the course is on the basis of entrance exam and Interview. The weight age assigned to each test for preparing merit is given below:

NIIFT Mohali, Application Process 2023

Candidates seeking admission in any of the UG or PG courses have to apply through online mode and then send the filled in application form to the institute on or before the last date of May 05.

Following steps are to be followed to fill the application forms online:

Visit the website www.applyadmission.net/niiftmohali.

Fill the application form.
As application fee general category candidates are required to make payment of INR 1750 (for SC/ST/ PhP candidates’ fee is INR 440) either through credit card / Debit card/ net banking to AIMA or in form of Demand Draft of INR 1750 in favour of NIIFT Mohali.
Candidates will have to send a printout of filled in form along with photograph pasted on it and demand draft ( if applicable ) to:

Application forms along with the prospectus can also be obtained from all the centers of NIIFT on payment of INR 500 by hand or INR 600 by post through cash or Demand Draft.
Filled in application form along with Demand Draft of fee i.e. INR 1200 for general candidates (INR 300 for SC/ST candidates) in favour of NIIFT Mohali, payable at Mohali should be sent to:

Candidates need to bring the following documents in original and a set of photocopy at the time of counseling/ admission:

Passing Certificates and Mark sheets of SSC and HSC.
Degree/ Provisional degree and Mark sheets of each semester of UG course (for PG courses).
Caste and PwD certificate (if applicable).
Certificate of Medical Fitness to be signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
Valid certificates if seeking reservation under any category.
