College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology  is a constituent of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University popularly known as HAU, was established in 1991. It is named after India's seventh Prime Minister, Choudhary Charan Singh. It is accredited by AICTE.

  • The institute is a leader in Indian Agricultural Research and also won the Indian Council of Agricultural Research's Award in 1997.
  • The university has 8645 Acres of land (around 7219 Acres. at main campus, 1426 Acres. at outstations)
  • In the year 1987-88 the degree programme of B. Tech. ( Agriculture Engineering ) was started

Extra Co-curricular activities: 

  • NCC (National Service Scheme) caters training on drill with or without weapon, map reading, field craft, patrolling, weapon training and firing in the camps that are held from time to time and train students to pass the examinations
  • NSS (National Service Scheme) various events are organized to train and encourage for various activities including population education, national literacy personal hygiene, immunization especially anti polio campaign environment cleanliness programme etc

Hostels:

  • The solar water heating facilities have also been provided in the hostels
  • There are about 1200 students residing in the hostels
  • There are two Wardens in each hostel for maintaining discipline and good behavior
  • There are two messes in the hostels

Experimental Farms

  • They have experimental farm of 994 hectares at main campus and experimental farms with regional research stations of 568 hectares
  •  The farm roads are interconnected with well-planned irrigation system with both canal as well as tube well irrigation facilities
  • Director Research who is assisted by farm managers, technical staff and other farm related supporting staff takes controls of the farms
  • 1608 hectares of land has been provided by The Government of Haryana for seed production

Laboratories:

  • Modern facilities like DNA Sequencer, UV-trans illuminator, PCR, FT-IR, Gene Gun, Gene Pulser, Electron Microscope, Submarine Electrophoresis Units, Inductivity coupled Plasma Spectrometer, X-ray diffraction, HPLCs, GLCs etc. are available
  •  The Facilities of screen house, green house and transgenic greenhouse are also provided for research works

  • The Indian Council of Agricultural Research's Award  was awarded for the Best Institute in 1997
  • The university published the largest number of research papers among agricultural universities in India
  • It has four official publications of its own HAU Journal of Research, Haryana Veterinarian, Haryana Kheti, and Thesis Abstracts
  • To promote the spread of agricultural technology among farmers A Kisan Mela (Farmers' Fair) is organized every year in March
  • Various varieties of wheat, rice, millets, forage crops, cash corps like sugarcane, cotton and oilseeds, vegetables and medicinal plants have been released by the institute
  • On 28 June 2012, four new varieties of pulses developed by it for cultivation in Haryana and north-east and north west plain zones, respectively were released
