NID Ahmedabad B.Des. Eligibility 

• The minimum eligibility for B.Des. is the passing of class 12th from any stream.
• Candidates who want to apply for B.Des. at NID meet the eligibility criteria if they have cleared or are appearing for their higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examination from any stream (Science, Humanities, Commerce, etc.) from any recognised board such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or their equivalent in the year 2023-2024 can apply for the exam.

Note- Upper age limit for candidates for the UG program is 20 years of age (relaxable by three years for reserved category) on or before July 1

NID Ahmedabad B.Des. Selection Criteria

Admission to the UG courses is on the basis of Design Aptitude Tests which will be conducted in two stages : Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims and Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Mains. Based on the Merit list of DAT Prelims, eligible candidates will have to appear for DAT Mains.

Candidates should note that appearing for the DAT Prelims or being ranked in the shortlist does not guarantee automatic entitlement to admission

NID Ahmedabad M.Des. Eligibility 

1. Bachelor degree of minimum 4-year duration in any specialization, after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard
2. Bachelor degree of minimum 3-year duration in any specialization, after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard.
3. Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in Design/Fine Arts/Applied Arts/ Architecture, after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard.

NID Ahmedabad M.Des. Selection Criteria

Admission to the M.Des. program will be granted solely on the basis of the candidate’s performance in DAT followed by a Personal Interview.

Note- Candidates can apply to a maximum of ONLY TWO disciplines for the Master of Design programme.

• The seat allotment will be purely based on the preference submitted by candidate at the time of submitting their application. Under no circumstances will the candidate be allowed to change these preferences later.
• Applications are received to a specific discipline only and are not transferable at any stage of the admissions process.

• A Master’s level qualification in Design,
• A Bachelor’s level qualification in Design from NID,
• A minimum of 3 years of professional or teaching experience.

NID Ahmedabad PhD Selection Criteria

Admission will be granted on the basis of Design Research Test (DRT) which will be conducted at NID Ahmedabad Campus. Appearing for the DRT or being included in the shortlist does not guarantee admission into the programme.

Candidates shortlisted after the DRT will be invited to appear for an interview and  make presentations to a committee at NID.
