Institute of Apparel Management, established in 2007 by Ministry of Textiles GoI, is an apparel multi-varsity situated at Gurgaon. It is primarily affiliated with Indira Gandhi National Open University, but being a multi-varsity, some of the certifications from this institute belong to other universities too.

The institute offers 3 UG, 2 PG and 4 short-term certificate programs with a total intake of approximately 210 students.

The basic admission criteria include a 10+2 level or Bachelor’s degree certificate and score obtained in institute’s entrance exam.

Institute of Apparel Management B.Tech and BA Admission 2023

At present, IAM Gurgaon provides two UG courses which include a B.Tech in Fashion & Lifestyle Design and BA in 2 specializations, which are affiliated with Mewar University.

Candidates with a 10+2 level examination certificate issued by any recognized board are eligible to apply. Selection will be done on the basis of IAM APT followed by an interview conducted by the institute. The final selection list is prepared on the basis of interview performances.

B. Tech in Fashion & Lifestyle Design is a four years degree course recognized internationally and having further progression at 167 universities.
BA certification courses are of a duration of 3 years. They are referred to as Indian Pathways given the nature of their curriculum and issuing authority.
BA in Apparel Design & Merchandising also has the curriculum of product development included.

Institute of Apparel Management MBA and MA Admission 2023

The institute provides MBA and MA at the PG level. Graduate candidates from recognized universities with an aggregate of at least 50% are eligible for application.

Selection will be done on the basis of performance in IAM APT followed by an interview. The final selection list is prepared on the basis of interview performances.

Candidates in their final year or fresh graduates who have not been awarded a university issued degree certificate need to submit provisional degree certifications issued by the university.

Institute of Apparel Management Short-Term Programs Admission 2023

There are four short term programs, also referred to as Pro-Up programs, of one-year duration each offered by IAM, Gurgaon. The application procedure for these courses is different from the UG and PG courses.

The basic eligibility criteria consist of a 10+2 level certification and no entrance examination is required for admission into these courses. Selection is based on the merit in the qualifying examination.

Key Points:

The courses are divided into two semesters; each of which has a different domain of specialization.
Except for Fashion Design Technology, all other programs cover two levels of specialization in a single course.
Apparel Export Merchandising has a provision of deputing few selected candidates as interns in the industry for a one-month long project. The selection of these candidates would be on basis of attendance, marks scored in exams/assignments.

Institute of Apparel Management Application Process 2023

For UG and PG courses:

Fill up the online registration form at institute’s website and submit registration fees of INR 2500.
Registration fees are to be paid via wire transfer or demand draft only.
Post registration, details of IAM’s aptitude test will be notified to candidates on their registered email address.
Based on the merit of IAM APT score, candidates are shortlisted and shortlisted candidates are then notified to appear for an interview.

For Pro-Up Programs:

Download the application form from the Institute’s website.
Fill in the particulars and submit the application at Institute along with the required documents and a cheque or DD in IAM’s favor.
The fees to be paid by cheque or DD are composite of 1^st installment of the course applied for and registration charges (Both of these are specified on the form itself).
The second installment of total fees is to be filled within 30 days start of the program.
