Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning is the First Architecture College in Assam and North East Region was founded by Dona Foundation in 2006.  Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University and approved by Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi, Institute of Town Planners, India as well as Higher and Technical Education, Government of Assam. The college has been ranked 2nd in the eastern region with an All India Rank of 21. GCAP ranked 22nd in Top Architecture Colleges in India by Times of India, 2020.

GCAP offers Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) and Master of Planning (Urban and Regional Planning) and Bachelor in Interior Design a 4 year degree course as per NEP (National Education Policy) with Multiple Entry and Exits. Candidates who have passed 10 + 2 with PCM as compulsory subject OR Passed Diploma exam with Maths as compulsory subject are eligible to take admission to B. Arch course. Admission to B. Arch is done on the basis of marks scored in NATA/ JEE (Paper II). For admission to M. Plan, candidates are required to appear in Common Aptitude Test.
