Ques
Which is better, chemical engineering from UICET PU Chandigarh, chemical engineering from Thapar University Patiala or computer science from CCET Chandigarh (affiliated to PU)?

● Top Answer By Pankaj Kumar on 05 Aug 21

Ans
Having a few friends from both institutes I might be able to share some facts about both the institutes. Chemical Engineering at UICET is better than Chemical at Thapar University or CSE at CCET. UICET is a well-renowned university and has a reputed department.  They have brilliant placement records and a strong alumni base. Laboratories and faculty at UICET are better than those at Thapar. Course fees at UICET for chemical engineering are very less than that in Thapar University.  Thapar is no doubt a well-reputed university but as far as chemical engineering is concerned UICET is better. CCET is affiliated with PU located in sector-26 Chandigarh. It is well known for its diploma courses. However, UICET is any day better than CCET in all terms. Categories Chemical Engineering at UICET Chemical Engineering at Thapar University CSE at CCET Chandigarh Course Fee INR 70,079 13.23 lakh 2.45 lakh Highest CTC 18 LPA 15 LPA 12 LPA Average CTC 6.31 LPA 7 LPA 4-5 LPA Recruiting Companies Honeywell, Reliance, Pfizer, Piramal Healthcare, etc. Reliance, GAIL, ONGC, GlaxoSmithKline, etc. Infosys, Godrej, L&T, HCL, etc. Your preference order should be Chemical Engineering at UICET> Chemical at Thapar University> CSE at CCET.

Ques
Which is a better choice, CSE at CGC LANDRAN or CCET Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Jai Singhal on 21 Apr 21

Ans
There are a plethora of parameters based on which one can decide which college is better than the other. But at the same time, your choices and your priorities also matter to decide which college you will opt for. You might not get all the fulfillments in the college checklist but you can set your priorities. Coming onto the question, if you are willing to decide among CGC Landran and CCET Chandigarh, you are comparing two very different colleges.  Let’s decide based on different criteria:  Placement: If you are one among the students to whom the ultimate goal is to get into a reputed company after Engineering, CGC Landran will be the right choice. You know why? Go through the placement records given below:  Placement Stats CGC Landran CCET Chandigarh Highest Package 35 Lakhs 12 Lakhs Average Package 7 Lakhs 4.07 Lakhs The placement stats of CGC Landran is way better than CCET Chandigarh.  If you want the stamp of Panjab University on your degree, then you can opt for CCET Chandigarh. Although, CCET will not provide you with any extra benefits/royalties like Panjab University. Instead of CCET, UIET is a better choice.  From the study point of view, there is not much difference between these two colleges.

Ques
What should I opt for, an ECE at UIET Chandigarh or a CSE at CCET?

● Top Answer By Harpreet Kaur on 28 May 21

Ans
If you are eligible for both streams, it is important to keep in mind that both are tier 2 colleges. According to my friends at the institutes, these colleges don’t see many core companies in the campus placement even for the CSE branch. Most of the recruiting companies are IT consultancies or Tech Support. Hence, if you opt for ECE in UIET you will probably end up working in Deloitte or Infosys, or MU-Sigma. Therefore, it is advisable to stay close to the main campus of PU. This will also help you in enjoying your college life to the fullest. While on the other hand, if you are passionate about coding and want to become a software engineer, then UIET and CCET, both see various kinds of young startups that recruit Software Developers as well as Designers. If this is the case, you must opt for CSE in CCET as a lot of subjects that are required for software development are not taken up in ECE because of PU’s curriculum, for example, AI, Data Structures, DBMS are considered only in CSE but not in ECE.

Ques
Should I take aerospace in PEC or CS in CCET Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Khushi Chitra on 04 May 21

Ans
It totally depends on your career interest. In India, there are very few jobs in the aerospace industry than in Computer Science Engineering. However, you should definitely pursue ‘Aerospace Engineering' at PEC University. Aerospace in PEC Aerospace Engineering (PEC University) is an excellent choice. It has a good reputation, personal development opportunities, better placements, and experienced faculty members. Companies providing placement are Airbus, Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, Bell Helicopter, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, Rockwell Collins, etc. CS in CCET Chandigarh Computer Science from CCET, Chandigarh, on the other hand, is not a good option. It is not as well-known as PEC University. Campus placements are limited. CSE is now equivalent to MCA, and MCA graduates can apply for the same job as a Computer Science engineer. Companies Provided placements are Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant Accenture, and many more. Categories Aerospace Engineering at PEC Chandigarh CS at CCET Chandigarh Course Fee 6.39 lakh 2.45 lakh Placement Percentage 98.95% 80% Highest CTC 27 LPA 20 LPA Average CTC 6-7 LPA 6-7 LPA Recruiting Companies JP Morgan, McKinsey, DRDO, HAL, Sukra Helitek, etc. Mahindra, TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, etc. One of the most important factors to consider when selecting a college is its reputation. A good college reputation will lead to better future plans with good people like you.

Ques
Which one is better: UIET Chandigarh's IT or CCET's CSE?

● Top Answer By Sumit Sengupta on 08 Jun 21

Ans
UIET and CCET are colleges situated in the same city. This makes them quite similar. The only varying factors are placement and campus life. I have my friends in both of the colleges and they have mentioned a few points which may help you to find a better college out of both. As the location of both the colleges is beautiful, both of the colleges get equal points here. The campus life of UIET is lively and you will get to enjoy university life there. Moreover, I have heard from my friends that students from CCET come to UIET campus to hang out and enjoy the ambiance. The students of CCET have to come to Punjab University for many formalities. Thus, UIET wins a point here as well. UIET and CCET have almost the same average package yet, UIET is seen offering a somewhat higher amount than CCET. The placement record for IT at UIET is unbeatable. Now, let’s look at the recent placement statistics of CCET and UIET. Parameters UIET CCET Average CTC 6.45 LPA 4.07 LPA Highest CTC 31 LPA 7 LPA Go through these factors and choose the college according to your requirements and expectations.

Ques
Should I take CS at CCET Chandigarh or electrical at PEC?

● Top Answer By Khushi Singhal on 30 Jun 21

Ans
Based on the review that I received from my friends at these two institutes I will say PEC is better. But if you have an interest in CSE then go for CCET. Placements - CCET: The placement rate here is 80 to 90 percent. The average package offered here is up to 6 lakhs. Placements - PEC(electrical): The placement rate is 93 percent. The average package offered up to 10 lakhs per annum (2020 placements). Alston, Goldman Sachs, EXL services, and others were among the major companies that hire from the electrical industry. In terms of reputation, infrastructure, art, and culture, PEC is superior.
