Shivanand College, Belgaum was established in 1967. It is prime educational institute in the rural area in Belgaum District on the borders between Karnatak and Maharastra. It is affiliated to Karnatak University (KU). The college offers Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programs.

The main objective of the college is to equal opportunities of higher education to the poor and backward sections of the rural community. The college has personality building youth organizations such as N.C.C, N.S.S, Red Cross, Scouts & Guides, Computer lab and functional committees
