The Candidates are selected on the basis of rank and marks scored in the TANCET 2016 exam. The TANCET, conducted by Anna University on behalf of Tamil Nadu government, is conducted annually for admissions in PG courses. The exam is not only for the students of Tamil Nadu, but for anyone who fulfills the eligibility criteria.

For NRI/Foreign Nationals, the selection is based on the basis of marks obtained by them in their qualifying degree course.

Apart from the scholarships, the complete waiver of fees is granted to one poorest student among those selected on basis of merit for each PG course. The annual parental income has to be less than INR 1, 00,000 for the said student.
