Mar Thoma Theological Seminary, Kottayam, Kerala is an educational body that imparts training to the students for the ordained ministry covering the social, political and religious conditions. The institute imparts education both for laity and clergy. The sole purpose of the seminary is to provide for biblical, liturgical, theological and pastoral training to service under the ministry in the Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Malabar. The students are selected by the Vedic Selection Committee.

1. Publications: The College undertakes the spiritual upliftment process through publication of magazines and the journal of theology that provides for a reference to the history of theology to the students. The college has major publications as ‘Chalanam’ which provides the opportunity to staff member and students to showcase the theory theological talent, and ‘Tidings’ is the 2 yearly annual publication of the seminary.
2. Personal and Spiritual Formation: To enhance and develop the students education about church and God, the college conducts personal and spiritual formation programmes in forms of class fellowship, worship, Intercessory prayer, tutorial meetings and group fellowships.
3. Theological and Pastoral Formations: For theological knowledge expansion of the students, the college provides for sessions such as community centers visit, community service programmes, medical aid and ration programmes, Christmas programmes, mission tour to Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Malabar and vacation programme to Bible schools.
4. Student Exchange Programmes: The college conducts international and national student exchange programmes with universities such as Princeton Theological Seminary, USA and Eastern Theological Seminary, Jorhat, Bishops College, Kolkata and Gurukul Lutheran Theological College.
